Introduction: Kimura's disease is an inflammatory and autoimmune disease that is endemic in Middle East and Asian countries but remains rare in Europe. It usually presents as subcutaneous nodules combined with cervical lymphadenopathies in the cervicofacial region. The oral mucosa localization is extremely rare. We report for the first time a case of hard palate localization.
Observation: A 61-year-old male patient from Martinique consulted for a recent median, extensive and poorly defined black area localized on the hard palate. It was painless and did not cause any discomfort. We performed a biopsy to rule out a melanoma. The pathology report led to diagnosing Kimura's disease. The biological parameters, especially the renal status, were normal. A simple medical supervision was prescribed.
Discussion: This was the first time Kimura's disease was observed as a pigmented area located on the hard palate. The diagnosis of melanoma first had to be ruled out. The histological and immunohistological parameters are mandatory to make a diagnosis.

In clinical practice, the impact of procedural or patient-related risk factors on 1-year clinical outcomes in patients receiving 1-month of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) followed by P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy after contemporary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remains unclear. Using data from the multi-center REIWA registry which included patients treated with thin-strut biodegradable polymer drug-eluting stent (BP-DES) and 1-month DAPT followed by P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy, we assessed the primary endpoint (a composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, definite stent thrombosis, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, and major or minor bleeding) in patients with and without procedural (treatment of three vessels, three or more lesions, three or more stents, bifurcation with two stents, long stenting, and target of chronic total occlusion) and patient-related risk factor (renal insufficiency, anemia, peripheral vascular disease, prior or current history of heart failure and advanced age of ≥ 75 years). Among the 1,202 patients who underwent complete revascularization by PCI, 276 (23.

Background: The JAVELIN Bladder 100 trial demonstrated improved overall survival (OS) with maintenance avelumab in patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma UC (la/mUC) who achieved disease control following first-line platinum-based chemotherapy (1 L-PBC). However, real-world data on eligibility, utilization, and outcomes of maintenance avelumab therapy remain limited.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients with la/mUC who received 1 L-PBC.
Background: The effect of worsening renal function and baseline chronic kidney disease (CKD) on outcomes in patients with chronic coronary syndrome in the setting of optimal medical therapy remains unknown.
Methods And Results: The REAL-CAD (Randomized Evaluation of Aggressive or Moderate Lipid Lowering Therapy With Pitavastatin in Coronary Artery Disease) study is a prospective, multicenter, randomized trial of high-dose (pitavastatin 4 mg/day) or low-dose (pitavastatin 1 mg/day) statin therapy in 12 118 patients with chronic coronary syndrome. The primary end point was a composite of cardiovascular death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, stroke, or unstable angina requiring hospitalization (major adverse cardiac and cerebral events [MACCE]).

Background: The risk-benefit ratio of the Absorb bioresorbable vascular scaffold (BVS) may vary before and after 3 years, the time point of complete bioresorption of the poly-L-lactic acid scaffold.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the time-varying outcomes of the Absorb BVS compared with cobalt-chromium everolimus-eluting stents (EES) from a large individual-patient-data pooled analysis of randomized trials.
Methods: The individual patient data from 5 trials that randomized 5,988 patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention to the Absorb BVS vs EES with 5-year follow-up were pooled.

Nutritional epidemiology aims to link dietary exposures to chronic disease, but the instruments for evaluating dietary intake are inaccurate. One way to identify unreliable data and the sources of errors is to compare estimated intakes with the total energy expenditure (TEE). In this study, we used the International Atomic Energy Agency Doubly Labeled Water Database to derive a predictive equation for TEE using 6,497 measures of TEE in individuals aged 4 to 96 years.
