Fistulization involving both the sigmoid colon and urachus is exceedingly rare. While previous cases have often necessitated laparotomy due to the involvement of multiple organs, only one instance of successful laparoscopic surgery has been reported. Objective: Metabolic reprogramming plays a critical role in modulating the innate and adaptive immune response, but its role in cutaneous autoimmune diseases, such as cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE), is less well studied. An improved understanding of the metabolic pathways dysregulated in CLE may lead to novel treatment options, biomarkers and insights into disease pathogenesis. The objective was to compare metabolomic profiles in the skin and sera of CLE and control patients using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).

Deep cutaneous wounds, which are difficult to heal and specifically occur on dynamic body surfaces, remain a substantial healthcare challenge in clinical practice because of multiple underlying factors, including excessive reactive oxygen species, potential bacterial infection, and extensive degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) which further leads to the progressive deterioration of the wound microenvironment. Any available individual wound therapy, such as antibiotic-loaded cotton gauze, cannot address all these issues. Engineering an advanced multifunctional wound dressing is the current need to promote the overall healing process of such wounds.

Mycosis fungoides (MF) is a rare malignancy, with an indolent course in the early stages of the disease. However, due to major molecular and clinical heterogeneity, patients at an advanced stage of the disease have variable responses to treatment and considerably reduced life expectancy. Today, there is a lack of specific markers for the progression from early to advanced stages of the disease.
