The target article develops an account of religious prosociality that is driven by increases in self-control. We suggest this account is incomplete. Although religion might increase prosociality to the in-group, it decreases it to the much larger out-group. Rituals, for example, lead to out-group derogation. We also challenge the link between religion and improved self-control, offering evidence that religion hinders self-control.

Despite the rapid development of entrepreneurship education among college students, limited research has examined the hindering role of Chinese parents in this process under the socio-cultural context of China. To address this gap, a quantitative study was conducted to investigate how entrepreneurship education enhances college students' entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) and the impact of Chinese parental psychological control (PPC). Data were collected from 1,411 college students using structured questionnaires and analyzed using hierarchical regression.

Polyelectrolyte complexes (PECs), formed via the self-assembly of oppositely charged polysaccharides, are highly valued for their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and hydrophilicity, offering significant potential for biotechnological applications. However, the complex nature and lack of insight at a molecular level into polyelectrolytes conformation and aggregation often hinders the possibility of achieving an optimal control of PEC systems, limiting their practical applications. To address this problem, an in-depth investigation of PECs microscopic structural organization is required.

Binge eating (BE) is associated with psychological distress, functional impairment, and elevated risk of eating disorder diagnoses, and BE prevalence is increasing. Motivational and self-regulatory processes such as delay discounting may be important influences on BE; however, evidence is inconclusive, and lacks explanation of mechanisms. This study investigated how food choice motives mediate the pathway from delay discounting (DD) to BE symptomatology.

Despite the advances in the development of therapeutic wearable wound-healing patches, lack self-healing properties and strong adhesion to diabetic skin, hindering their effectiveness. We propose a unique, wearable patch made from a 3D organo-hydrogel nanocomposite containing polydopamine, titanium dioxide nanoparticles, and silver quantum dots (PDA-TiO@Ag). The designed patch exhibits ultra-stretchable, exceptional-self-healing, self-adhesive, ensuring conformal contact with the skin even during movement.

Background: Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) is the leading cause of maternal mortality worldwide, and effective training in PPH rescue techniques is crucial. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of combining case-based learning (CBL) and problem-based learning (PBL) with simulation teaching methods in improving midwifery trainees' technical proficiency in managing PPH.

Methods: This quasi-experimental study involved 76 trainees who received PPH training at Peking University Third Hospital from March to July 2023.
