Flexible all-solid-state supercapacitors are fabricated with liquid-exfoliated black-phosphorus (BP) nanoflakes as an electrode material. These devices deliver high specific volumetric capacitance, power density, and energy density, up to 13.75 F cm(-3) , 8.83 W cm(-3) , and 2.47 mW h cm(-3) , respectively, and an outstanding long life span of over 30 000 cycles, demonstrating the excellent performance of the BP nanoflakes as a flexible electrode material in electrochemical energy-storage devices.

All-solid-state Li-ion batteries (ASSBs) represent a promising leap forward in battery technology, rapidly advancing in development. Among the various solid electrolytes, argyrodite thiophosphates Li6PS5X (X = Cl, Br, I) stand out due to their high ionic conductivity, structural flexibility, and compatibility with a range of electrode materials, making them ideal candidates for efficient and scalable battery applications. However, despite significant performance advancements, the sustainability and recycling of ASSBs remain underexplored, posing a critical challenge for achieving efficient circular processes.

High ionic conductivity poly(ionic liquid)s (PILs) are of growing interest for their thermal and electrochemical stability, processability, and potential in safe, flexible all-solid-state electrochemical devices. While various approaches to enhance the ionic conductivity are reported, the influence of cation substituents is rarely addressed. Moreover, some of the asymmetric anions recently developed for high-conductivity ionic liquids were never tested in PILs.

The interfacial incompatibility between lithium phosphorus oxynitride (LiPON) and anode greatly deteriorates the performance of thin-film all-solid-state supercapacitors (ASSSCs). This article investigates oxygen plasma treatment to improve the interface. Through appropriate plasma treatment, a LiO/LiPO composite layer is formed by replacing nitrogen with oxygen at the LiPON surface owing to strong reactivity of oxygen plasma.
