Glioblastoma is immunologically "cold" and resistant to single-agent immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICI). Our previous study of neoadjuvant pembrolizumab in surgically-accessible recurrent glioblastoma identified a molecular signature of response to ICI and suggested that neoadjuvant pembrolizumab may improve survival. To increase the power of this observation, we enrolled an additional 25 patients with a primary endpoint of evaluating the cell cycle gene signature associated with neoadjuvant pembrolizumab and performed bulk-RNA seq on resected tumor tissue (NCT02852655).

Basal ganglia germinomas are uncommon neoplasms. Basal ganglia germinomas exhibit high sensitivity to both radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) can be used to assess treatment response in patients with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS). The importance of this is explored in our case of a 75-year-old man who was diagnosed with UPS of the right kidney. After a right nephrectomy and tumor resection, the patient was recovering well with initially undetectable, and then slightly elevated, circulating tumor DNA.

Methods: Search was conducted through 1/5/23 using PubMed, Embase, Cochrane CENTRAL, and Web of Science.
