Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of endovascular treatment in solving symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions.
Methods: From June 2012 to February 2014, 12 cases (24 lesions) with symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions were accepted for the endovascular treatment. The distributions of the tandem lesions were as follows: the common carotid artery and internal carotid artery (1 case), the internal carotid artery and the proximal of the carotid cavernous sinus segment (3 cases), the internal carotid artery and the distal of the carotid cavernous sinus segment (4 cases), the intracranial segment of internal carotid artery and middle cerebral artery M1 segment (2 cases), the first segment of vertebral artery and intracranial segment of vertebral artery (2 cases). All of these cases were treated from distal lesions to proximal lesions except for tandem lesions in the internal carotid artery and the distal of the carotid cavernous sinus segment in order to obtain better support. Tandem lesions were treated in the same operation with local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The procedures of the 12 cases retrospectively were analyzed and the peri-operation complications and responsibility region recurrent ischemic stroke incidents observed.
Results: All tandem lesions were solved successfully all at once. There were no peri-operation complications or recurrent ischemic stroke incidents. There were no recurrent ischemic stroke incidents or stent restenosis cases in the follow-up.
Conclusion: It is safe and effective for selective endovascular treatment in solving symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions at the same time, but we should take careful preoperative evaluation and improve the operation plan.

Objective: The study aims to elucidate the mechanisms underlying plaque growth by analyzing the variations in hemodynamic parameters within the plaque region of patients' carotid arteries before and after the development of atherosclerotic lesions.
Methods: The study enrolls 25 patients with common carotid artery stenosis and 25 with tandem carotid artery stenosis. Based on pathological analysis, three-dimensional models of the actual blood vessels before and after the lesion are constructed for two patients within a two-year period.

Breast cancer is a highly heterogeneous disease whose prognosis and treatment as defined by the expression of three receptors-oestrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2; encoded by ERBB2)-is insufficient to capture the full spectrum of clinical outcomes and therapeutic vulnerabilities. Previously, we demonstrated that transcriptional and genomic profiles define eleven integrative subtypes with distinct clinical outcomes, including four ER subtypes with increased risk of relapse decades after diagnosis. Here, to determine whether these subtypes reflect distinct evolutionary histories, interactions with the immune system and pathway dependencies, we established a meta-cohort of 1,828 breast tumours spanning pre-invasive, primary invasive and metastatic disease with whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing.

Tandem occlusion due to acute cervical carotid artery dissection should be promptly treated with thrombectomy for reperfusion. If the cervical lesion has reached severe stenosis or complete occlusion, balloon angioplasty and, in certain cases, carotid artery stenting should be performed before thrombectomy for the intracranial lesion. Angioplasty or stent placement is performed in the true lumen, but securing the placement is challenging when the true lumen cannot be determined.

Vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques, especially hemorrhaged lesions, are the major cause of mortalities related to vascular pathologies. The early identification of vulnerable plaques helps to stratify patients at risk of developing acute vascular events. In this study, proteomics analyses of human carotid artery samples collected from patients with atheromatous plaques and complicated lesions, respectively, as well as from healthy controls were performed.
