Objective: A meta-analysis was undertaken to provide evidence-based clinical trials comparing radiofrequency ablation with partial nephrectomy for small renal mass.

Methods: We searched through the major medical databases such as Pub Med, EMBASE, Medline, Science Citation Index, Web of Science and CNKI (Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database) and Wangfang (Database of Chinese Ministry of Science & Technology) for all published studies without any limit on language from May 2007 until May 2015. The following search terms wereused: partial nephrectomy, radiofrequency ablation, renal cell carcinoma, small renal tumor or mass. Furthermore, additional related studies were manually searched in the reference lists of all published reviews and retrieved articles.

Results: We found there were no statistical differences between groups in 5y-DFS, recurrence rates, complications, but a less percentage decease rate of GFR than PN, and RFA may be a better application for SRM (<4 cm).

Introduction: A hybrid approach with very high-power short-duration (vHPSD) posteriorly and ablation-index guided HPSD (50 W) anteriorly seems to be an optimal balance between efficiency and effectiveness for point-by-point pulmonary vein isolation (PVI). The aim of the current study is to compare vHPSD/HPSD ablation to cryoballoon ablation (CBA) in patients with symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF).

Methods And Results: In this retrospective single-center study, we identified 110 consecutive patients who underwent their first PVI with either vHPSD/HPSD (n = 54) or CBA (n = 56).

Surgical and Ablation Therapies for Atrial Appendage Tachycardia in Children.

JACC Clin Electrophysiol

December 2024

Department of Pediatric Cardiology, Heart Center, First Hospital of Tsinghua University (Beijing Huaxin Hospital), Chaoyang District, Beijing, China.

Background: Atrial tachycardia (AT) originate from the atrial appendage present unique clinical challenges in pediatrics. It is typically persistent, frequently leading to tachycardiomyopathy, and poses significant treatment difficulties.

Objectives: This study aimed to collate and analyze the clinical characteristics and therapeutic outcomes of radiofrequency ablation (RFCA) and with atrial appendage resection for the treatment of AT originating from the atrial appendages in pediatric patients.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive procedure that utilizes localized heat to treat tumors by inducing localized tissue thermal damage. The present study aimed to evaluate the temperature evolution and spatial distribution, ablation size, and reproducibility of ablation zones in ex vivo liver, kidney, and lung using a commercial device, i.e.

Background And Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and satisfaction rates of three different lateral matricectomy methods for treating ingrown toenails: 90% phenol, 100% trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and radiofrequency (RF) ablation. Our objective was to identify which method offers superior outcomes regarding postoperative pain, healing time, aesthetic results, and complication rates.

Methods: Conducted between August 2022 and June 2023, the study included 12 eligible patients divided into three groups: Group 1 underwent lateral matricectomy with 90% phenol, Group 2 with 100% TCA, and Group 3 with RF treatment.

Background: Ebstein's anomaly represents 40% of congenital tricuspid valve abnormalities. Studies about paediatric Ebstein's anomaly patients are limited.

Aim: To evaluate clinical characteristics, treatment (medical/arrhythmia ablation/surgical) results, and outcome of Ebstein's anomaly patients, and to determine factors affecting arrhythmia presence and mortality.
