A new method has been developed for the Cu-catalyzed C-H trifluoromethylation of 3-arylprop-1-ynes for the selective construction of allenic Csp(2)-CF3 and propargyl Csp(3)-CF3 bonds. The selective formation of allenic Csp(2)-CF3 and propargyl Csp(3)-CF3 bonds can be controlled by modifying the reaction conditions.

Salinity is a severe abiotic stress that affects plant growth and yield. Salinity stress activates jasmonate (JA) signaling in , but the underlying molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated. In this study, we confirmed the activation of JA signaling under saline conditions and demonstrated the importance of the CORONATINE INSENSITIVE1 (COI1)-mediated JA signaling for this process.

A synergistic photoredox/cobalt/chromium triple catalysis system for regioselective, enantioselective, and diastereoselective 1,4-hydrocarbonation of readily available 1,3-enyne precursors was explored, providing a modular synthetic platform for various trisubstituted axially chiral allenes bearing an extra central chirality. The protocol features a broad substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, excellent selectivity, and mild reaction conditions. Furthermore, a possible reaction mechanism is proposed based on numerous control experiments and density functional theory calculations.

Efficient methods for synthesizing allenes from readily available starting materials pose a persistent challenge in organic chemistry. In this work, we present a novel two-stage protocol for allene synthesis involving the single-atom insertion into alkenes, facilitated by synergistic photoredox and cobalt catalysis. Diverging from conventional methods such as the Doering-LaFlamme reaction, this photochemical rearrangement approach operates efficiently under mild conditions in a radical-based manner.

We report herein a palladium-catalyzed distal alkylation of silyldienol and silyltrienol ethers of enones through coupling with activated halides to achieve new - and -alkylated motifs. Additionally, by employing propargyl bromides, synthetically useful linear allenes along with functionalized enones have been synthesized. Low-catalyst loading, and late-stage transformations of pharmaceutically relevant molecules further showcase the importance of the present protocol.

Ring expansion metathesis polymerization (REMP) has emerged as a potent strategy for obtaining cyclic polymers over the past two decades. The scope of monomers, however, remains limited due to the poor functional group tolerance and stability of the catalyst, necessitating a rational catalyst design to address this constraint. Here, we present ruthenium complexes featuring tethered cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene ligands for REMP, aiming to deepen our understanding of the structure-property relationship in newly designed catalysts.
