Keratin is an important biopolymer used to develop biomaterials for biomedical and industrial applications. Traditional keratin extraction methods involve the removal of surface lipids using organic solvents, detergents, and energy-intensive processes that often compromise the purity of the extracted keratin. In the present study, wool fibers were microbially disintegrated to isolate cortical cells, achieving a maximum yield of 61.

GLI1-altered tumors form a diverse group occurring in various anatomic locations. In the alimentary tract, the most established are gastroblastoma, a biphasic epithelial-mesenchymal neoplasm of the stomach, and plexiform fibromyxoma, a pure spindle cell neoplasm. The spectrum of GLI1-rearranged gastrointestinal tumors has recently expanded with reports of cases in other parts of the GI tract, some exhibiting gastroblastoma-like features and others being pure mesenchymal neoplasms.

In order to alleviate the dendrite problem of zinc-ion batteries, a gel electrolyte is prepared by Maillard reactions occurring between hydrolyzed wool keratin and carboxymethyl cellulose under heating conditions. The prepared gel electrolyte with the addition of hydrolyzed wool keratin possesses good mechanical properties, and its maximum breaking strength, Young's modulus, and elastic modulus are 58.7, 10.
