Introduction: Development of an animal model of rheumatoid arthritis-interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) and improved knowledge of the pathogenesis of RA-ILD may facilitate earlier diagnosis and the development of more effective targeted therapies.
Methods: Adult male Wistar rats were studied in an adjuvant arthritis (AA) model induced by the injection of Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA). Rats were sacrificed on days 7, 14, 21, and 28 after FCA injection. Lung tissue was obtained for histopathological examination and evaluation of Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β1) protein expression levels.
Results: Pulmonary inflammation was evident in lung tissue from day 21 after FCA injection. Inflammation and mild fibrosis were observed in lung tissue on day 28 after FCA injection. Cav-1 protein expression was significantly decreased from day 7 through day 28 and TGF-β1 protein expression was significantly increased on day 28 after FCA injection compared to control (P < 0.05).
Conclusion: We established an AA rat model that exhibited the extra-articular complication of RA-ILD. We identified Cav-1 and TGF-β1 as protein biomarkers of RA-ILD in this model and propose their signaling pathway as a possible target for therapeutic intervention.

Background: Pain and inflammation are closely associated with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), which affects the bones and joints.
Aim: While there are a number of therapeutic options for arthritis, their side effects restrict their use and encourage the search for alternative, natural remedies.
Methods: In male rats, we examined the anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic properties of venom (NHV).

Background: The concepts of myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) are now widely accepted. Calcium channel blockers (CCBs) are the first-line medication for coronary spastic angina (coronary spastic angina: CSA/vasospastic angina: VSA), while β-blockers sometimes do not improve CSA/VSA. However, β-blockers are essential for managing symptoms of coronary microvascular dysfunction and considered vital for treating heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease mainly affecting the joints categorized by inflammation, swelling of the synovium and decrease in the joint movement. Bakuchiol, a meroterpene class of natural product present in Psoralea corylifolia known to possess anti-inflammatory effects by a variety of mechanisms. However, its effects in rheumatoid arthritis still remain unclear.

Objectives: In this study, the SP-38 (Diterpene Lactone derivative) was designed, synthesized from clerodane diterpene (lactone) isolated from var. pendula, and tested for anti-arthritic activity using the FCA-induced arthritic rat model.
Materials And Methods: This study examined the effects of SP-38 using three different doses (20, 10, and 5 mg/kg) by oral administration for 21 days from day 8 after 0.
