Plant homeodomains (PHD) and Bromo domains are both chromatin reader domains that recognise histone methylation degree and acetylation state, respectively. The tripartite motif protein TRIM24 is a multidomain protein carrying a PHD-Bromo motif at its C-terminus, through which it is able to bind to histone 3 (H3) N-terminal tails with a specific modification pattern, namely unmethylated at K4 and acetylated at K23 (H3-K4me0K23ac). Here we report the 1H, 13C and 15N backbone resonance assignment of this 23 kDa motif, which we have obtained by heteronuclear multidimensional NMR spectroscopy. Furthermore we show that the secondary Cα and Cβ chemical shifts are in good agreement with a previously published crystal structure.

Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is an anterior surgical approach for interbody fusion in the lumbar spine which affords the surgeon unfettered access to the disc space and allows for release of the anterior longitudinal ligament and insertion of a large, lordotic interbody graft. Despite the benefits associated with ALIF when compared with other lumbar interbody fusion techniques, the ALIF approach is associated with a number of unique complications, and certain patient-specific criteria (e.g.

Background: The objective of this report is to present a case of two cervical spine artificial discs (Bryan Cervical Disk) that completely disappeared within 6 months as a result of a high-energy trauma more than 10 years after the initial surgery. Implant dislocation is a known complication in artificial cervical disc replacement. However, this report presents the case of an exceptional migration path with esophageal ingrowth and rectal excretion, not only for one artificial disc but for two at different times It highlights the need for long-term follow-up examinations after artificial cervical disc arthroplasty (ACDA).

Background: Artcure diffusional patch (ADP) is a novel transdermal therapeutic system that started to be used in the last decade for lumbar disc herniation (LDH). Previous studies have reported early results of the therapy. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the medium- to long-term functional outcomes of this treatment in LDH patients and examine factors predicting the need for surgery after treatment.

Introduction And Clinical Importance: Giant cell tumor (GCT) is a rare benign bone tumor that usually affects skeletally adult people. While it usually appears in the epiphyseal parts of long bones, it is very rare in the spine, particularly the thoracic spine, especially in pediatric patients.
Case Presentation: An 11-year-old female presented with progressive lower extremity weakness, accompanied by localized back pain and urinary urgency, diagnosed with GCT in the thoracic spine.

Background: No studies have evaluated the impact of the cement distribution as classified on the basis of the fracture bone marrow edema area (FBMEA) in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) on the efficacy of percutaneous vertebral augmentation (PVA) for acute osteoporotic vertebral fractures.
Methods: The clinical data of patients with acute, painful, single-level thoracolumbar osteoporotic fractures were retrospectively analyzed. The bone cement distribution on the postoperative radiograph was divided into 4 types according to the distribution of the FBMEA on the preoperative MRI.
