Spontaneously occurring lymphomas in SJL mice have many pathological features similar to Hodgkin's lymphoma in humans. The malignant growth of the tumor cells is dependent on the support of host FoxP3(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells (Tregs). In this study, we report that the ablation of golli protein, a negative regulator of CRAC (calcium release activated calcium) channel, in SJL mice results in an accelerated progression of Hodgkin's-like lymphoma which is accompanied by a facilitated conversion of FoxP3(+) Treg cells. Our results suggest that golli protein might affect the progression of Hodgkin's-like lymphomas through regulating the induction of Treg cells.

Malignant histiocytosis (MH) is a progressive systemic neoplastic proliferation of morphologically atypical histiocytes, well characterised in humans and dogs but only recently identified in the cat. In all species, liver, lung, lymph nodes, spleen and bone marrow are infiltrated by atypical histiocytes, and the disease is rapidly fatal. The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical, histological, immunohistochemical and ultrastructural findings of MH in a cat, together with the diagnostic work-up and a list of differential diagnoses.

Adult T-cell leukaemia/lymphoma (ATLL), is a malignant condition associated with human T-cell leukaemia virus type I (HTLV-I). Usually, although not uniformly, histopathological examination of the lymph nodes shows a pleomorphic type. In addition, some patients with pre-overt ATLL show a Hodgkin's disease-like morphology and lymph nodes in non-neoplastic carriers show features of lymphadenitis.

The appearance of a high-grade lymphoma in the setting of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is termed Richter's syndrome. Usually the high-grade component is a monomorphous, large cell lymphoma, but occasionally the high-grade component takes the form of Hodgkin's disease or a Hodgkin's-like lymphoma. Although Richter's syndrome is thought to represent clonal evolution of the underlying B-cell neoplasm in most cases, such a progression is difficult to explain when the high-grade component is Hodgkin's disease.
