Measurement feedback systems (MFS) are a class of health information technology (HIT) that function as an implementation support strategy for integrating measurement based care or routine outcome monitoring into clinical practice. Although many MFS have been developed, little is known about their functions. This paper reports findings from an application of health information technology-academic and commercial evaluation (HIT-ACE), a systematic and consolidated evaluation method, to MFS designed for use in behavioral healthcare settings. Forty-nine MFS were identified and subjected to systematic characteristic and capability coding. Results are presented with respect to the representation of characteristics and capabilities across MFS.

This study aimed to develop and validate a cost-effective, customizable patient-specific phantom for simulating external ventricular drain placement, combining image segmentation, 3-D printing and molding techniques. Two variations of the phantom were created based on patient MRI data, integrating a realistic skin layer with anatomical landmarks, a 3-D printed skull, an agarose polysaccharide gel brain, and a ventricular cavity. To validate the phantom, 15 neurosurgeons, residents, and physician assistants performed 30 EVD placements.

Background: Alterations to spatial navigation have been suggested by previous studies to represent an early cognitive marker for those with and at risk of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). However, with most of these studies focusing on spatial memory (usage of formed spatial representations), very little is known about the extent to which spatial exploration (process by which spatial representations are formed) may be altered in AD. Background: Language and cultural factors are known to influence cognitive performance on neuropsychological measures used to assess cognitive impairment and dementia. A new measure, the Characterising Language Experience and Acculturation Questionnaire (CLEAr-Q) was developed to address the gap in access to a brief measure of these factors in the Australian context. The aim is to validate and further develop the CLEAr-Q as a tool to capture linguistic and acculturation variables to improve measurement of cognition in older adults from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
