Echo State Networks are efficient time-series predictors, which highly depend on the value of the spectral radius of the reservoir connectivity matrix. Based on recent results on the mean field theory of driven random recurrent neural networks, enabling the computation of the largest Lyapunov exponent of an ESN, we develop a cheap algorithm to establish a local and operational version of the Echo State Property.

Using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with radial scanning, images of intact rat lungs and rat lungs with pulmonary hypertension were obtained. The retrospective gating method was applied to construct images of rat lungs during inspiration and expiration phases. Lung volumes at both respiratory phases, relative tidal volume, and the percentage of lung lesions were calculated.

In solid-state NMR, dipolar-based heteronuclear polarization transfer has been extensively used for sensitivity enhancement and multidimensional correlations, but its efficiency often suffers from undesired spin interactions and hardware limitations. Herein, we propose a novel dipolar-echo edited R-symmetry (DEER) sequence, which is further incorporated into the INEPT-type scheme, dubbed DEER-INEPT, for achieving highly efficient heteronuclear polarization transfer. Numerical simulations and NMR experiments demonstrate that DEER-INEPT offers significantly improved robustness, enabling efficient polarization transfer under a wide range of MAS conditions, from slow to ultrafast rates, outperforming existing methods.

Introduction: In 2021, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) published the IASLC Language Guide as guidance on preferred language and phrasing in oral and written communications, including presentations at conferences. This study analyzed presentations from the 2022 IASLC World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) one year after implementation of the Language Guide to identify adoption rates of non-stigmatizing language and to determine correlations with presenter characteristics.
Methods: We downloaded 522 slide presentations from the IASLC WCLC 2022 conference attendee portal.

Differentiating intraparotid facial nerve schwannoma from other parotid tumors, particularly pleomorphic adenoma, is clinically crucial due to significant differences in treatment approaches. We report a case of a male patient in his 70s presenting with a left parotid mass. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) revealed a mass within the left parotid gland exhibiting the characteristic ``target sign''.

While typical qualitative T1-weighted magnetic resonance images reflect scanner and protocol differences, quantitative T1 mapping aims to measure T1 independent of these effects. Changes in T1 in the brain reflect structural changes in brain tissue. Magnetization-prepared two rapid acquisition gradient echo (MP2RAGE) is an acquisition protocol that allows for efficient T1 mapping with a much lower scan time per slab compared to multi-TI inversion recovery (IR) protocols.
