Background: Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) poses a significant public health challenge in developing countries, leading to increased risks of adverse obstetric outcomes such as caesarean section, postpartum hemorrhage, episiotomy, difficult labor, obstetric tears/lacerations, instrumental delivery, prolonged labor, and extended maternal hospital stays. The study aimed to determine the prevalence and factors associated with FGM/C among Tanzanian women who had given birth within five years preceding the Survey.

Method: This study utilized an analytical cross-sectional design based on data from the 2015-2016 Tanzania Demographic and Health Survey and Malaria Indicators Survey (TDHS-MIS).

Follicle count, a pivotal metric in the adjunct diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), is often underestimated when assessed via transvaginal ultrasonography compared to MRI. Nevertheless, the repeatability of follicle counting using traditional MR images is still compromised by motion artifacts or inadequate spatial resolution. In this prospective study involving 22 PCOS patients, we employed periodically rotated overlapping parallel lines with enhanced reconstruction (PROPELLER) and single-shot fast spin-echo (SSFSE) T2-weighted sequences to suppress motion artifacts in high-resolution ovarian MRI.

Purpose Of Review: Women are underrepresented in HIV infection and prevention research despite making up half of people living with HIV. The female genital tract (FGT) serves as a primary site of HIV acquisition, but gaps in knowledge remain regarding protective innate immune mechanisms. Innate lymphoid cells are tissue-resident cells involved in mucosal barrier maintenance and protection, and innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) are altered during chronic HIV infection.

Accurate detection of abnormal cervical cells in cervical cancer screening increases the chances of timely treatment. The vigorous development of deep learning methods has established a new ecosystem for cervical cancer screening, which has been proven to effectively improve efficiency and accuracy of cell detection in many studies. Although many contributing studies have been conducted, limited public datasets and time-consuming collection efforts may hinder the generalization performance of those advanced models and restrict further research.
