Tyrosine kinase inhibitors have been employed for the treatment of lung cancer, owing to their role in regulating irregulated pathways or mutated genes. Bosutinib, a nonreceptor tyrosine kinase, has been recently investigated for lung cancer treatment. Bosutinib can also be used with paclitaxel as a combinatorial approach to receive a synergistic effect for the effective management of lung cancer.

Computational Study of the 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition between Criegee Intermediates and Linalool: Atmospheric Implications.

J Phys Chem A

January 2025

Centro de Bioinformática, Simulación y Modelado (CBSM), Departamento de Bioinformática, Facultad de Ingeniería, Universidad de Talca, Talca 3465548, Chile.

In this research, we investigated the essential role of biogenic volatile organic compound emissions in regulating tropospheric ozone levels, atmospheric chemistry, and climate dynamics. We explored linalool ozonolysis and secondary organic aerosol formation mechanisms, providing key insights into atmospheric processes. Computational techniques, such as density functional theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations, were employed for the analysis.

Virus-laden aerosols play a substantial role in the spread of numerous infectious diseases, particularly in enclosed indoor settings. Ultraviolet-C (UVC) disinfection is known to be a highly efficient method for disinfecting pathogenic airborne viruses. Recent recommendations suggest using far-UVC radiation (222 nm) emitted by KrCl* (krypton-chloride) excimer lamps to disinfect high-risk public spaces due to lower exposure risks than low-pressure (LP) mercury lamps (254 nm).

Shanghai Key Laboratory of Atmospheric Particle Pollution and Prevention, National Observations and Research Station for Wetland Ecosystems of the Yangtze Estuary, IRDR International Center of Excellence on Risk Interconnectivity and Governance on Weather, Department of Environmental Science & Engineering, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, Peoples' Republic of China.

Hydroxyl radical (·OH) plays a crucial role in atmospheric chemistry, regulating the oxidative potential and aerosol composition. This study reveals an unprecedented source of ·OH in the atmosphere: mineral dust-bearing microdroplet aerosols. We demonstrate that Kaolin clay particles in microdroplet aerosols trigger rapid ·OH production upon solar irradiation, with rates reaching an order of at least 10 M s.

Background: Since their inception, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) have gained increasing popularity, sparking a vaping epidemic among adolescents in the US and globally. Several ENDS safety concerns have emerged as device features and formats that contribute to heavy metal exposure and toxicity continue to evolve and outpace regulatory efforts.

Objectives: Our objective was to integrate ENDS emission profiles with salivary proteome and metabolome data to characterize exposure factors that may influence adverse vaping-mediated health outcomes.
