Background: Implicit motor sequence learning (IMSL) is a cognitive function that allows us to execute multiple movements in a specific sequential order and plays a crucial role in our daily functional activities. Although the role of the basal ganglia network in IMSL is well-established, the exact involvement of the cerebellar network is less clear.
Aim: Here, we aimed to address this issue by investigating the effects of cerebellar transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) on IMSL.
Background: The increasing clinical use of combining structural MRI (sMRI) with General Movements Assessment (GMA) or Hammersmith Infant Neurological Exam (HINE) before five months corrected age (CA) for early diagnosis of cerebral palsy (CP) lacks sufficient prognostic data for children with CP, especially those with Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) I.
Objective: Evaluate the predictive value of sMRI, GMA, and HINE individually and in combination for early CP diagnosis and assess accuracy across varying GMFCS levels in a regional cohort of preterm infants.
Methods: We performed sMRI between 39-44 weeks postmenstrual age and GMA and HINE between 12-18 weeks CA in 395 preterm infants born at ≤32 weeks' gestation across five NICUs in Greater Cincinnati.

Brain neurons utilize the primary cilium as a privileged compartment to detect and respond to extracellular ligands such as Sonic hedgehog (SHH). However, cilia in cerebellar granule cell (GC) neurons disassemble during differentiation through ultrastructurally unique intermediates, a process we refer to as cilia deconstruction. In addition, mature neurons do not reciliate despite having docked centrioles.
