Article Abstract

A hyperbranched conjugated Schiff base polymer network was synthesized by condensation between 4,4',4''-nitrilotribenzaldehyde and p-phenylenediamine. The material exhibits excellent rate capability and long cycle life for lithium storage. Coupled with lower electrode potential (0.7 V vs. Li(+)/Li), it may be well suited for fully flexible thin film polymeric batteries as the negative electrode.

Substance use disorders (SUDs) present a critical global health challenge, as current treatment options often prove insufficient, particularly for substances like ketamine and methamphetamine. In this study, we developed a novel immunotherapeutic strategy utilizing protein-free, polymer-based vaccines, with hyperbranched polyethylenimine (Hb-PEI) as a carrier to enhance immune specificity and remove the production of non-specific antibodies. Haptens for ketamine and methamphetamine were covalently conjugated to the Hb-PEI carrier, along with the Toll-like receptor (TLR) 7/8 agonist 1V209, to stimulate targeted humoral immune responses.

This paper reports the development of a highly crosslinked hyper-branched polyglycerol (HPG) polymer bound to elastin-like proteins (ELPs) to create a membrane that undergoes a distinct closed-to-open permeation transition at 32 °C. The crosslinked HPG forms a robust, mesoporous structure (150-300 nm pores), suitable for selective filtration. The membranes were characterized by FTIR, UV-visible spectroscopy, SEM, and AFM, revealing their structural and morphological properties.

Advancements in π-conjugated polymers: harnessing cycloalkyl straps for high-performance π-conjugated materials.

Pendant alkyl chains are widely used to successfully obtain a wide variety of soluble linear 1D π-conjugated polymers. Over the past several decades, a wide variety of π-conjugated polymers have been synthesized to realize the desired properties and improve the performance of organic electronic devices. However, this strategy is not suitable for generating soluble 2D-π-conjugated materials, including ladder polymers, nanoribbons, and 2D-π-conjugated polymers, due to strong van der Waals interactions between the ribbons and sheets.

Enzyme-mediator bioconjugation is emerging as a building block for designing electrode platforms for the construction of biosensors and biofuel cells. Here, we report a one-pot bioconjugation technique for flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent glucose dehydrogenase (FAD-GDH) and thionine (TH) using a series of cross-linkers, including epoxy, -hydroxysuccinimide (NHS), and aldehydes. In this technique, FAD-GDH and thionine are conjugated through an amine cross-linking reaction to generate a redox network, which has been successfully employed for the oxidation of glucose.
