We have reported the case of a 54-year-old man with recurrent painful migratory subcutaneous nodules associated with marked blood eosinophilia and an eosinophilic pleural effusion. The entire syndrome was subsequently determined to be due to cutaneous myiasis caused by the larvae of Hypoderma lineatum, the cattle botfly. Infestation by this or other dipterous fly larvae should be among the parasitic diseases considered in the differential diagnosis of any patient with similar symptoms.

Introduction: Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS) is a severe hypersensitivity reaction rarely documented in patients with multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: In our retrospective study of 108 newly diagnosed MM (NDMM) patients from January 2021 to October 2023, we identified four cases of DRESS. The clinical characteristics such as clinical manifestations, laboratory results, treatment and outcome were analyzed.

Pulmonary cysticercosis is a rare manifestation of human cysticercosis, which mostly occurs in developing countries. The disease can affect the lung parenchyma and pleura, resulting in pulmonary nodules, pneumonitis, lung cavities, or pleural effusion. We herein present a case involving a man of advanced age who presented with symptomatic eosinophilic pleural effusion.

This study aimed to compare the clinical characteristics of human fascioliasis and bacterial liver abscesses to provide a reference for the early and effective differentiation of these 2 diseases to avoid misdiagnosis. We retrospectively compared the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of 95 patients with human fascioliasis and 95 with bacterial liver abscess admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Dali University between January 2013 and March 30, 2023. The human fascioliasis group exhibited a higher proportion of female patients and a greater frequency of abdominal pain and lesions affecting both lobes of the liver.
