The intensive use and misuse of antibiotics over the last decades have generated a strong selective pressure for the emergence of multi-resistant strains and nosocomial infections. Biofilm has been demonstrated as a key parameter in spreading infections, especially in hospitals and healthcare units. Therefore, the development of novel anti-biofilm drugs is actually of the upmost importance. Here, the antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities toward pathogenic microorganisms of a set of non-ribosomal synthesized peptides and polyketides isolated from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens ANT1 culture supernatant are presented.

Bacterial levans are biopolymers composed of fructose units linked by β-2,6 glycosidic bonds that are degradable, nontoxic and flexible, representing a green technology with significant applications across various industries. Fermented soybeans are a common source of bacteria-producing polysaccharides. In this study, KKSB4, KKSB6 and KKSB7 isolated from traditionally fermented soybean (Thua-nao), along with strain 5.

Bacterial blight of pomegranate caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. punicae poses significant challenges to sustainable cultivation, necessitating eco-friendly management strategies, and this study explores the role of the phylloplane microbiome in disease suppression through metabarcoding, traditional microbiology, and antibacterial screening of microbial candidates. Here, we mapped the phylloplane microbiome of pomegranate cultivar 'Bhagwa' during bacterial blight development using metabarcoding sequencing (2443,834 reads), traditional microbiological methods (nutrient-rich and minimal media), and scanning electron microscopy.

The traditional overwintering process of sea cucumbers (Apostichopus japonicus) requires burning a large amount of coal to raise the water temperature. It is useful but costly and not environmentally friendly. Bacillus is proposed as a cheap and green alternative.

, a potential probiotic for use in food and feed production, can exert anti-aging effects in a strain-specific manner. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying its anti-aging effects remain poorly understood. This study explored the effects of WF2020 (WF2020), isolated from Chinese fermented pickles, on longevity and health and investigated the underlying mechanisms in .
