Cultivated meat, produced using cell culture technology, is an alternative to conventional meat production that avoids the risks from enteric pathogens associated with animal slaughter and processing. Cultivated meat therefore has significant theoretical microbiological safety advantages, though limited information is available to validate this. This review discusses sources and vectors of microbial contamination throughout cultivated meat production, introduces industry survey data to evaluate current industry practices for monitoring and mitigating these hazards, and highlights future research needs.

However, socially conducted deceptions make it hard to get data since people are unlikely to self-report their intentional deception behaviors, especially malicious ones. Aims: Myxobacteria are non-pathogenic, saprophytic, soil-dwelling predatory bacteria known for their antimicrobial potential. Many pathogenic bacteria form biofilms to protect themselves from antimicrobial agents and the immune system. Bisphenol S (BPS) has been put into production as a wide range of Bisphenol A (BPA) alternatives, while little is known regarding its cardiac developmental toxicity. To explore the effect of BPS on cardiomyocyte differentiation and its mechanism, our study established the human embryonic stem cell-cardiomyocyte differentiation model (hESC-CM), which was divided into early period of differentiation (DP1:1-8d), anaphase period of differentiation (DP2:9-16d) and whole stage of differentiation (DP3:1-16d) exposed to human-related levels of BPS. We found that the survival rate of cardiomyocytes was more sensitive to BPS at the early stage of differentiation than at the anaphase stage of differentiation, and exposure to higher than 30 µg/mL BPS throughout the differentiation period decreased the expression of cTnT.

Process tracing, a method from policy studies, is a flexible approach for causal analysis within case studies, increasingly used in applied health research. The aim of this study was to identify the ways in which process tracing methods have been used in health research, and provide insights for best practice.
