There are a significant number of dermatoses associated with renal abnormalities and disease, and dermatologists need to be keenly aware of their presence in order to avoid overlooking important skin conditions with potentially devastating renal complications. This review discusses important nephrocutaneous disease associations and recommendations for the appropriate urgency of referral to nephrology colleagues for diagnosis, surveillance, and early management of potential renal sequelae. Part II of this 2-part continuing medical education article addresses inflammatory and medication-related nephrocutaneous associations.

Although the advancements in craniomaxillofacial surgery have been significant, ischemic craniomaxillofacial diseases remain challenging to treat due to insufficient blood supply. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has emerged as a promising adjunctive treatment, exhibiting the potential to promote angiogenesis, exert anti-inflammatory effects, enhance bone regeneration, and possess antibacterial properties. Numerous studies have demonstrated its efficacy in stimulating healing processes, particularly in cases such as medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw, osteoradionecrosis, chronic jaw osteomyelitis, and refractory wounds.

The accurate diagnosis of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) and its distinction from differential diagnoses is crucial for effective patient counseling and treatment. This is achieved through a targeted patient history and multimodal imaging, which distinguish CSC from other ocular diseases also characterized by subretinal fluid and changes in the retinal pigment epithelium. In this article we identify the key differential diagnoses of CSC and illustrate the characteristic differential diagnostic features of each disease.

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of lasers at various wavelengths in treating medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) using biochemical, clinical scoring, micro CT analysis, and histopathological methods. The study follows the ARRIVE guidelines to ensure robust and transparent research. In our study, there were 6 groups, including one SHAM group, one CONTROL group, and four experimental groups, with 8 rats in each individual group.

Purpose: Exosomes from mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) can prevent the development of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) by promoting tooth socket wound healing; however, the exact mechanism remains to be clarified. In this study, our aim was to explore the mechanisms of exosomes derived from adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ADSCs) in preventing MRONJ by focusing on macrophage M1 polarization and pyroptosis.
Methods: The MRONJ model was established by the administration of zoledronate and tooth extraction.
