Computer-assisted medical imaging technologies provide new tools for the study of congenital craniofacial deformities. Three-dimensional surface reconstructions have been developed to simplify the interpretation and improve the utility of CT scans of the head. While 3-D reconstructions initially were applied to assist clinical management of craniofacial deformities, these images now are finding utility in the study of unique anomalies, the definition of group characteristics for dysmorphic heads, the differentiation of similar phenotypes, and the documentation of the effects of cranial surgery on craniofacial growth. These findings should assist the formulation and evaluation of hypotheses regarding mechanisms of congenital malformation and deformation.

Optical vortices possess a helical phase wavefront with central phase dislocation and orbital angular momentum. We demonstrated three-dimensional microstructure formation using a femtosecond optical vortex beam. Two-photon polymerization of photocurable resin was induced by long-term exposure, resulting in the fabrication of cylindrical structures.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the impact of different thresholds and voxel sizes on the accuracy of Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) tooth reconstruction and to assess the accuracy of fused CBCT and intraoral scanning (IOS) tooth models using curvature continuity algorithms under varying thresholds and voxel conditions.
Methods: Thirty-two isolated teeth were digitized using IOS and CBCT at two voxel sizes and five threshold settings. Crown-root fusion was performed using a curvature continuity algorithm.

Apo-transferrin (apo-TRF) is a vital protein for maintaining iron balance in the body, which is produced by the liver. Indisulam (IDM) has been extensively used to treat cancer in clinical study and has been identified as a molecular glue. Iron imbalances in the body are believed to encourage the growth and spread of cancer cells.

An innovative integrated three-dimensional (3D) bioprinted gastric microtissue electrochemical biosensor was developed in this study for the detection of allergen ovalbumin (OVA). In this system, OVA triggers the release of histamine from gastric microtissue, which then undergoes a redox reaction on the electrode surface, leading to an increase in the peak current. Gelatin methacrylate hydrogel serves as a scaffold for the 3D culture of RBL-2H3 and PC-12 cells for partially restoring allergic reactions in the human body in vitro.

The escalating global problem of antibiotic contamination in wastewater demands innovative and sustainable remediation technologies. This paper presents a highly efficient photocatalytic material for water purification: a three-dimensional ultra-porous structure of interconnected GaN hollow microtetrapods (aero-GaN), its performance being further enhanced by noble metal nanodot functionalization. This novel aero-nanomaterial achieves more than 90 % of tetracycline degradation within 120 min under UV and solar irradiation, demonstrating its effectiveness in both static and dynamic flow conditions, with the potential for reuse and recyclability.
