Glucosamine-6-phosphate synthase (G6PS) (EC 2.6.1.16) is a known target for anti-bacterial and anti-fungal infections. Therefore, it is of interest to design potential inhibitors using 1, 5 benzo-thiazepine skeleton with appropriate modifications. We report the binding data for 20 derivatives of the skeleton molecule to G6PS having binding energy from -7.35 to -9.99 Kcal/mol with predicted IC50 value range of 4.11 to 47.68 nano-molar. It should be noted that this data should be further evaluated using in vitro and in vivo studies for safety, activity, efficacy and toxicity.

The current research focused on the synthesis of two series of pyrazole derivatives and evaluation of their insecticidal effectiveness. In the first series, seven pyrazole Schiff bases 3a-g were successfully synthesized with yields (79-95%) by condensing phenylfuran-2-carbaldehyde with substituted pyrazole rings. In the second series, eleven amino acid-pyrazole conjugates 6a-k were synthesized utilizing acetic acid, sulfuric acid, morpholine, and EDC.

Chamuangone, a compound extracted from the leaves of Garcinia cowa, exhibits various biological activities. Yet, its absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) profile as well as anti-inflammatory effects in macrophages remain unexplored. In this study, we employed a computational tool to predict the ADMET profile of chamuangone and performed molecular docking simulations to assess its interactions with key proteins involved in inflammatory pathways.

Background: Diabetes-associated dry eye syndrome (DMDES) affects 20-54 % of diabetes, leading to ocular irritation and blurry vision. Decreased conjunctival goblet cell mucus secretion is one of the major pathological processes of DMDES. This study aims to investigate the mechanism of mucus granule maturation and secretion disturbance in DMDES.

Lavenders are economically significant plants cultivated worldwide for their essential oils (EOs) containing sesquiterpenes. These EOs contribute to the cosmetic, personal hygiene, and pharmaceutical industries. The biosynthesis of lavender sesquiterpenes involves enzymes like sesquiterpene synthases GEAS and GERDS.

Persistence of long-term hyperglycemia results in the glyco-oxidation of plasma proteins, which is considered to be a significant factor in metabolic dysfunction, linking hyperglycemia to the emergence of vascular complications. Methylglyoxal (MGO), a dicarbonyl species formed excessively under diabetes, elevates the oxidative stress, enhancing the generation of superoxide anion, which ultimately reacts with nitric oxide (NO•) to form peroxynitrite (PON). PON, being a powerful nitro-oxidizing agent distorts protein structure, hampering its function.
