Objective: To understand the endemic situation and impact factors of paragonimiasis in Sichuan Province, so as to provide the evidence for its control work.
Methods: Four administrative villages from Xuanhan County, Kaijiang County, Pengzhou City and Yucheng District of Ya'an City were selected as regular surveillance sites. In the surveillance sites, ELISA was applied to test the infection situation of residents, questionnaire surveys were performed simultaneously; and water crabs were collected to detect the metacercariae of Paragonimus.
Results: From 2011 to 2013, totally 3 666 residents were tested by serum test and 104 of them were positive with a positive rate of 2.8%. Totally 3 671 residents underwent the questionnaire survey and 24.8% of them had heard about paragonimiasis, 36.3% had eaten undercooked water crabs, 56.4% had played with water crabs, and 84.6% had drunk stream water. Totally 2 463 water crabs were dissected, and metacercariae of Paragonimus were found in 620 of them with the infection rate of 25.2% and infectiosity of 4.53 per crab, respectively.
Conclusions: The endemic situation of paragonimiasis in natural environments is serious in Sichuan Province. The residents in endemic area practice unhealthy diet behavior, and there is an urgent risk of the breakout of paragonimiasis.

Microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and protists, are key drivers in aquatic ecosystems, maintaining ecological balance and normal material circulation, playing vital roles in ecosystem functions and biogeochemical processes. To evaluate the environmental impact of different river crab polyculture practices, we set up two different river crab () polyculture practices: one where river crabs were cultured with mandarin fish (), silver carp (), and freshwater fish stone moroko (), and another where river crabs were cultured just with mandarin fish and silver carp. These two polyculture practices were referred to as PC and MC, respectively.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of parasitic infections in market-sold aquatic products in Shanghai Municipality, and to understand the knowledge and practice towards food-borne parasitic diseases among residents, so as to provide insights into the surveillance and control of food-borne parasitic diseases.
Methods: Freshwater products, seawater products and pickled products were randomly obtained from agricultural trade markets, supermarkets, retail stores and restaurants in Huangpu, Putuo, Minhang and Qingpu districts of Shanghai Municipality from 2020 to 2023. Parasite metacercariae and larvae were detected in these aquatic products using pressing method, digestion method and the dissection method, and the detection of parasitic infection was compared in different types of aquatic products.

The widespread use of nano titanium dioxide (nano-TiO₂) poses ecological risks to marine ecosystems, especially when combined with ocean warming. However, most previous studies have only examined water-related exposures, leaving a gap in research on the impact of food transfer on organisms. In this work, the harmful impacts of nano-TiO on the Japanese swimming crab Charybdis japonica were studied through three scenarios: direct exposure (DE) of the crabs to warming and nano-TiO, indirect exposure (IE) via consumption of thick-shelled mussels Mytilus coruscus exposed to the same conditions, and combined exposure (CE), where crabs were directly subjected to warming and nano-TiO while feeding affected mussels.

However, the effects of climatic conditions on the abundance, biomass, and mean weight of female red king crabs, , from the introduced population (Barents Sea) have not yet been studied. For this reason, we analyzed long-term fluctuations in stock indices and the average weight of an individual crab in a small bay of the Barents Sea and related these parameters to the dynamics of temperature conditions (temperature in January-December, mean yearly temperature, and temperature anomaly) in the sea.

Organisms occupy diverse ecological niches worldwide, each with characteristics finely evolved for their environments. Crustaceans residing in deep-sea hydrothermal vents, recognized as one of Earth's extreme environments, may have adapted to withstand severe conditions, including elevated temperatures and pressure. This study compares the exoskeletons of two vent crustaceans (bythograeid crab sp.
