Introduction: Hydatidosis (cystic echinococcosis) is endemic in Río Negro Province, Argentina. In 1980 started a control program against the disease. In 1984 Frider et al performed the first ultrasound screening in the world at Pilcaniyeu city, later extended to other localities of Rio Negro province. The initial prevalence in asymptomatic people was 7.1% in Pilcaniyeu and 10.1% in Comallo, being all new cases and with surgical indication.
Objective: The aim of this investigation was to determine the current prevalence and analyze the evolution of the disease across 25 years of the control program.
Materials And Methods: In 2009 and 2010 ultrasound screening studies were conducted in both locations in all age groups.
Results: In 512 ultrasound studies at Pilcaniyeu, the prevalence was 1.5% in children (6to 14years old) and 4.2% in adults (total 2.5%). In 770 ultrasound studies at Comallo, the prevalence was 1.1% in children and 66% in adults (total 3.0%). The overall reduction in the prevalence reached 67.2%. Regarding the age distribution, rates of 1.6%-1.9% were observed in Pilcaniyeu and of 1.0-1.9% in Comallo between 0 and 30 years old, increasing significantly above 10% after 60 years old in Pilcaniyeu and after 40years old in Comallo.
Conclusions: The implementation of the program actions reduced the prevalence of the disease but there are still new cases, and that indicates that some bias persists in the control of the epidemiology of the disease and levels of transmission to humans as a consequence of this failures. So the search of asymptomatic cases is still important and also their management based on the follow-up by ultrasound (watch and wait) or in the treatment with albendazol.

Alvarezsauria is a group of morphologically distinctive, medium- to small-sized later-diverging coelurosaurian theropod dinosaurs, whose record ranges from the Late Jurassic to the Late Cretaceous. This clade had a widespread distribution in Laurasia in what is now Europe, Asia, and North America, although there are also several Cretaceous taxa from Gondwana in what is now Argentina that all belong to the family Alvarezsauridae. Although alvarezsaurid taxonomic diversity and anatomical knowledge has expanded over the last decade, alvarezsaurid internal phylogenetic relationships remain highly debated.

Purpose: The rarity of breast mucinous carcinoma (BMC) makes it challenging to study the prognosis of this disease across diverse racial populations. This study aimed to leverage epidemiological data on immigrant populations to elucidate the prognostic differences in BMC patients from various racial/ethnic backgrounds. The goal was to help formulate more personalized clinical practice guidelines for the management of this rare malignancy.

Some of the smallest examples of dinosaurian body size are from alvarezsaurians, an enigmatic group of maniraptoran coelurosaurians with a peculiar combination of anatomical features unique among theropods. Despite the large number of alvarezsaurian species described worldwide and the increased understanding this has provided, the body-size macroevolution of alvarezsaurians has received little attention. Here we reconstruct and analyse directional trends of alvarezsaurian body-size evolution through an integrated analysis of body mass, ontogenetic age, and morphological rate data enabled by a comprehensively revised phylogeny.

A list of all eight species of Austroleptis Hardy, 1920, the only genus of Austroleptidae, from South America is provided, including photos of type specimens of four Chilean species and all distributional records given in the literature and from labels of newly examined material, which are added into a map. The list of species, including photos of additional material, is presented in a catalog format that gives all nomenclatural information and relevant literature about the species. Two undescribed species are indicated and four described species have their distribution expanded: A.

Background: During the early phase of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, low and middle-income countries (LMICs) were facing challenges in achieving equitable vaccine delivery. Few studies have contextualized global vaccine distributive injustice into national-specific contexts to understand its impact on vaccine delivery from an equity perspective. We aimed to investigate factors influencing equitable COVID-19 vaccine delivery in the Philippines and to provide recommendations to enhance equitable vaccine delivery in LMICs to prepare for future health emergencies.
