Each year around the world, it is estimated that 300,000 neonates are born with a neural tube defect. Many countries, however, are still lacking comprehensive birth defects surveillance registries. Comprehensive birth defects surveillance systems can help countries understand the magnitude and distribution of the problem. These systems can also provide information about biological, contextual, social and environmental determinants of birth defects. This information in turn can be used to identify effective and implementable solutions, and to evaluate prevention and management strategies to improve quality performance. This paper summarizes the development and implementation of an online pre-course training and in-person surveillance workshop conducted between 2014 December and 2015 March for representatives from six African countries. Feedback given by participants provided valuable lessons learned that can be applied to subsequent trainings and workshops.

Objectives: As is well known, plaque morphology plays an important role in the hemodynamics of stenotic coronary arteries, thus their clinic outcomes. However, so far, there has been no research on how the cross-sectional shape of a stenotic lumen affects its hemodynamics. Therefore, this study aims to explore the impact of plaque cross-sectional shape on coronary hemodynamics under mild or moderate stenosis conditions (diameter stenosis degree ≤50 %).

Background: eHealth interventions constitute a promising approach to disease prevention, particularly because of their ability to facilitate lifestyle changes. Although a rather recent development, eHealth interventions might be able to promote brain health and reduce dementia risk in older adults.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the perspective of general practitioners (GPs) on the potentials and barriers of eHealth interventions for brain health.

Berry syndrome is a rare combination of cardiac malformations, which is characterized by the following malformations, including the aortopulmonary window, aortic right pulmonary origin, interrupted aortic arch or hypoplastic aortic arch or coarctation of the aorta, and an intact ventricular septum. There are few reviews on prenatal diagnosis of Berry syndrome by fetal echocardiography. We used sequential cross-sectional scanning from apex to bottom of the heart to find aortic right pulmonary origin, aortopulmonary window, and hypoplastic aortic arch.

Human health is being threatened by environmental microplastic (MP) pollution. MPs were detected in the bloodstream and multiple tissues of humans, disrupting the regular physiological processes of organs. Nanoscale plastics can breach the blood-brain barrier, leading to neurotoxic effects.

Background: The following case report details the genetic evaluation and treatment of a 30-year-old male with a history of asthenoteratospermia and notable abnormalities of the sperm flagella.
Methods: Genetic evaluation was performed via a multi-gene panel of genes associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia and multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella (MMAF) prior to the couple's in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle.
Results: Genetic evaluation was performed via a multi-gene panel of genes associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia and multiple morphological abnormalities of the sperm flagella (MMAF) prior to the couple's in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle.
