Methods: Following board approval, in 2020 the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA Pain Medicine) commissioned evidence-based guidelines for best practices for infection control. More than 80 research questions were developed and literature searches undertaken by assigned working groups comprising four to five members.

The objective of this mini review is to discuss the role of musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSK US) in identification and treatment of pain generators in cervical spine in patients presenting with cervicogenic headache (CEH). CEH is a secondary headache arising from cervical nociceptive structures emerging from facet joints, intervertebral discs, nerves, muscles, fascia and ligaments. A recent paradigm, active inference, brings fundamental insights into the adaptation of biological organisms, constantly striving to minimize prediction errors to restrict themselves to life-compatible states. Over the past years, many studies have shown how human and animal behaviors could be explained in terms of active inference - either as discrete decision-making or continuous motor control - inspiring innovative solutions in robotics and artificial intelligence.
