March 2025

National Clinical Research Center for Metabolic Diseases, Metabolic Syndrome Research Center, Key Laboratory of Diabetes Immunology, Ministry of Education, Changsha 410011, Hunan, China. Electronic address:

Objective: This study aims to develop a radiomics machine learning (ML) model that uses preoperative computed tomography angiography (CTA) data to predict the prognosis of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) for abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) patients.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 164 AAA patients underwent EVAR and were categorized into shrinkage (good prognosis) or stable (poor prognosis) groups based on post-EVAR sac regression. From preoperative AAA and perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT) image, radiomics features (RFs) were extracted for model creation.

Wastewater monitoring has the potential to complement infectious disease surveillance systems. However, the absence of predefined viral signal thresholds in wastewater is often presented as a limiting factor in triggering public health action. To overcome this issue, the feasibility of defining alarm threshold for viral loads in wastewater samples was assessed by quantifying genome fragments of SARS-CoV-2, influenza A virus (IAV), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), norovirus (NoV), and rotavirus (RoV) by RT-digital PCR (dPCR) in untreated wastewater samples from three treatment plants.

Sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (AKI) poses a severe threat to patients' lives and health, making early predictions, intervention, and treatment crucial. This study aims to preliminarily explore the clinical role of miR-577 and miR-494-3p in sepsis-associated AKI. The study included 70 sepsis patients with AKI, 65 sepsis patients without AKI, and a healthy control group (HC, n = 67) to set baseline miRNA levels.
