This paper describes three retrospective case studies to illustrate the potential clinical value of a system capable of capturing objective gait metrics and environment data from older adults with a history of falls while they go about their daily lives. Participants in this study wore an inertial sensor above each ankle and a wearable camera around their neck for seven consecutive days. Selected metrics are presented to illustrate scenarios where the data collected by the system could be of clinical value. Evidence suggests that obtaining objective gait metrics and environment data from older adults may not only allow healthcare professionals to assess gait more accurately, but also to design treatment plans and falls prevention strategies that are more specifically tailored to each individual.

Introduction: The three-dimensional evaluation of patients in the gait laboratory is a diagnostic method that is gaining ground in various orthopedic pathologies and, in the case of ankle fractures, can more accurately detail the degree of joint limitation.
Objective: To present the importance of laboratory gait studies in the postoperative period of ankle fractures associated with syndesmosis ligament injuries, increasing the arsenal for assessing whether the surgical approach and outcome were satisfactory.
Methods: Case series of 13 patients who underwent surgical treatment for ankle fractures associated with syndesmosis injuries, evaluated postoperatively in the gait clinic using the BTS GAITLAB hardware program.

Stroke survivors are at a relatively higher risk of falling than their healthy counterparts. To identify the key gait characteristics affecting fall risk in this population, this study analyzed the gait kinematics and gait asymmetries for 36 community-dwelling people with chronic stroke (PwCS). According to their fall history in the last 12 months, they were divided into a fall group ( = 21) and non-fall group ( = 15), and then the gait kinematics (step length, stride length, stance time, swing time, trunk angle, and segment angles for lower limbs) and their asymmetries (symmetry ratio and symmetry index) were compared between these two groups.
