Objective: Immunotherapeutic inhibition of PD-1 by systemically administered monoclonal antibodies is widely used in cancer treatment, but it may cause severe immune-related adverse events (irSAEs). Neoadjuvant PD-1 inhibition before surgery has shown promise in reducing recurrence by stimulating durable antitumor immunity. Local intratumoral (IT) immunotherapy is a potential strategy to minimize irSAEs, but antibodies have limited tumor penetration, making them less suitable for this approach.

Guanylate binding protein 1 (GBP1) is critical in the host's innate immune response against viral infections and inflammation. Therefore, this study explored the role of GBP1 poly I: C, a synthetic analog of double-stranded RNA that mimics viral infections-induced inflammation in macrophages. Stimulation of human macrophage THP-1 and mice macrophage RAW 264.

Viral infections in the respiratory tract are common, and, in recent years, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 outbreaks have highlighted the effect of viral infections on antiviral innate immune and inflammatory reactions. Specific treatments for numerous viral respiratory infections have not yet been established and they are mainly treated symptomatically. Therefore, understanding the details of the innate immune system underlying the airway epithelium is crucial for the development of new therapies.

Background: Tryptophan metabolism dysregulation has been observed in vitiligo. However, drawing a mechanistic linkage between this metabolic disturbance and vitiligo pathogenesis remains challenging.

Objective: Aim to reveal the characterization of tryptophan metabolism in vitiligo and investigate the role of tryptophan metabolites in vitiligo pathophysiology.

Regulation of cytokine and chemokine expression by histone lysine methyltransferase MLL1 in rheumatoid arthritis synovial fibroblasts.

Histone lysine methylation is thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We previously reported aberrant expression of the gene encoding mixed-lineage leukemia 1 (MLL1), which catalyzes methylation of histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4), in RA synovial fibroblasts (SFs). The aim of this study was to elucidate the involvement of MLL1 in the activated phenotype of RASFs.
