Although research has shown links between family-of-origin violence (FOV), intimate partner violence (IPV), and hostility, research has not examined whether hostility mediates the relationship between FOV and IPV. The current study examined whether hostility mediates FOV and IPV perpetration in 302 men arrested for domestic violence. Results demonstrated that hostility fully mediated the relationship between father-to-participant FOV and physical and psychological IPV, and the relationship between mother-to-participant FOV and physical IPV. Results indicated that hostility fully mediated the relationship between experiencing and witnessing FOV and physical IPV (composite FOV), and partially mediated the relationship between composite FOV and psychological aggression.

Background: This study aimed to examine the impact of neighborhood conditions and household material hardship experiences on young adult health outcomes, while also considering financial autonomy as a critical determinant of health.
Method: We employed a cross-sectional observational design with a diverse sample of young adults from a large urban university. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the relationships between neighborhood conditions and material hardship with health outcomes by financial autonomy.

Small RNA sequencing analysis in two chickpea genotypes, JG 62 (Fusarium wilt-susceptible) and WR 315 (Fusarium wilt-resistant), under Fusarium wilt stress led to identification of 544 miRNAs which included 406 known and 138 novel miRNAs. A total of 115 miRNAs showed differential expression in both the genotypes across different combinations. A miRNA, Car-miR398 targeted copper chaperone for superoxide dismutase (CCS) that, in turn, regulated superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity during chickpea-Foc interaction.

Growing evidence suggests that serotonin is an important mediator in the cross-talk between immune and bone cells, playing a role in the pathogenesis of various types of inflammatory arthritis (IA). However, the relationship between circulating serotonin and different outcomes in three most prevalent IA - rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), remains limited and requires further investigation. This study was performed to evaluate variations in serotonin serum levels among RA, PsA, and axSpA and to explore the utility of this biochemical marker in the assessment of disease activity and health status measurements provided by the Multi-Dimensional Health Assessment Questionnaire (MDHAQ).

Background: In 43-63% of symptomatic Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients, there is an observed accumulation of misfolded alpha-synuclein (αSyn). Two primary αSyn subtypes have been identified based on the underlying spreading pattern of this pathology: caudo-rostral and amygdala-predominant. Interactions between pathological TDP-43, Tau, and αSyn can aggravate their spread and aggregation.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) frequently coexists with cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is common in the aging population, yet the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood. Both long-term blood pressure variability (BPV) and plasma neurofilament light (PNFL) were identified as potential biomarkers for AD and CSVD. This study aims to understand the mechanisms of comorbidity between AD and CSVD by investigating the associations among BPV, PNFL, and comorbidity.
