The objective of the present study was to develop the methods for the chemical and toxicological analysis of cyclopentolate contained in the material evidence for the purpose of forensic chemical and forensic toxicological expertises. The optimal conditions for the isolation of cyclopentolate from the cyclomed preparation and biological fluids were created using a chloroform-2-ptropanol mixture at pH of the medium 10.0. The substance of interest was identified with the use of the color and flocculation reactions, UV spectroscopy, thin layer chromatography and gas chromatography with the use of a mass-selective detector. HPLC and GCh/MS were employed for the quantitative determination. The results of the two methods are in excellent agreement.

Based on the biologically active heterocycle quinoline, we successfully synthesized a series of quinoline-based dihydrazone derivatives (3a-3d). H NMR, C NMR, ESI-HRMS, IR, element analysis, UV/Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy were performed to comprehensively characterize their chemical structures, spectral properties and stability. Nitrosamine impurities were not detected in 3a-3d, and the systemic toxicological assessment indicated that the toxicity of 3a-3d was lower.

Mitochondria are affected by chemical substances and play a critical role in drug-induced liver injury (DILI). Chemical substances can have a significant impact on various cellular processes, such as the disruption of oxidative phosphorylation, oxidative stress, and alteration of glucose metabolism. Given the consequences of these effects, it is crucial to understand the molecular pathways of chemical substances in the context of hepatotoxicity to prevent and treat DILI.

Air pollution significantly contributes to the global burden of respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. While single source/compound studies dominate current research, long-term, multi-pollutant studies are crucial to understanding the health impacts of environmental aerosols. Our study aimed to use the first air-liquid interface (ALI) aerosol exposure system adapted for long-term in vitro exposures for ambient air in vitro exposure.

In the present study, we investigated the effects of a representative of the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) chemical group, namely perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), and its alternatives (perfluorobutanoic acid [PFBA] and the hexafluoropropylene oxide dimer acid [GenX]) on bone homeostasis, a process that mainly depends on osteoblast (OB) and osteoclast (OC) activities at the cellular level. C3H10T1/2 cells and bone marrow macrophages (BMMs) were respectively induced into OBs and OCs, and treated with PFOA, PFBA, and GenX at doses of 0.25, 2.

Taking the natural product cerbinal as the lead compound, 30 novel 5-aryl-cyclopenta[]pyridine derivatives were designed and synthesized based on the previous bioactivity studies of the cyclopenta[]pyridines. The modification of the position-5 of compound was achieved by amination, bromination, and cross coupling using cerbinal as the raw material. The results of the bioactivity tests demonstrated that partial compounds exhibited superior activity against plant viruses compared to compound .
