In this paper, porous Ti6Al4V alloys for biomedical applications were fabricated by diffusion bonding of alloy meshes. The compression-compression fatigue behavior was studied. It results that porous Ti6Al4V alloys show enhanced normalized fatigue strength which is in the range of 0.5-0.55 at 10(6)cycles. The porosity has some effect on the absolute S-N curves but minor effect on the normalized S-N curves. The relationship between strain per cycle and number of cycles shows three distinct stages and the value of strain per cycle is constant in stage II. The reasons for the higher normalized fatigue strength of porous Ti6Al4V alloys are discussed based on the fatigue crack initiation and propagation.

Laser-powder bed fusion (PBF-LB) has enabled production of customised skeletal implants that incorporate porous lattices structures to enable bone ingrowth. However, the inherent surface roughness of PBF-LB, characterised by partially adhered particles and undulating sub-topography, remains a barrier to adoption. As such PBF-LB surfaces require several time-consuming post-processing steps, nevertheless, conventional finishing techniques are often limited by geometrical part complexity, making them unsuitable for porous PBF-LB parts.

The metastable β-Ti21S alloy exhibits a lower elastic modulus than Ti-6Al-4V ELI while maintaining high mechanical strength and ductility. To address stress shielding, this study explores the integration of lattice structures within prosthetics, which is made possible through additive manufacturing. Continuous adhesion between the implant and bone is essential; therefore, auxetic bow-tie structures with a negative Poisson's ratio are proposed for regions under tensile stress, while Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures with a positive Poisson's ratio are recommended for areas under compressive stress.

The production of green hydrogen through proton exchange membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) is a promising technology for industry decarbonization, outperforming alkaline water electrolysis (AWE). However, PEMWE requires significant investment, which can be mitigated through material and design advancements. Components like bipolar porous plates (BPPs) and porous transport films (PTFs) contribute substantially to costs and performance.

The large amount of unfused powder that remains on the surface of Ti6AL4V porous scaffolds prepared by selective laser melting technology is a common problem. Therefore, this article investigated the effects of three different chemical polishing processes on the surface state, pore structure, and mechanical properties of small pore size scaffold materials at different polishing times in the field of implantable medical devices. The results show that the overall treatment effect of the simple chemical polishing process is poor, the internal treatment depth of porous support is insufficient and uneven, and the overall mechanical properties of the sample with the same porosity are average.
