Thyroid cancer encountered during pregnancy requires a systematic approach balancing risks and benefits to both maternal and fetal health specific to this unique phase of life. Thyroid nodules are common and are predominantly evaluated to detect thyroid cancer. Clinical examination, serum thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) measurement, ultrasonographic risk stratification, and fine needle aspiration biopsy when indicated are used to assess for malignancy.

Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) procedure is nowadays routinely used for diagnostic sampling of mediastinal lymph nodes. Fracture of the needle during the procedure has rarely been reported in the past. This reports the successful retrieval of the broken fragment of the needle using a snare through a fiberoptic bronchoscope.

Here, we present a 55-year-old female patient diagnosed with thyroid carcinoma metastasis via fine-needle aspiration biopsy of the right supraclavicular lymph node. She underwent total thyroidectomy and right central lymph node dissection.
