Geopolymer concrete mixes were cast using fly ash, kaolin, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, sodium silicate and aggregates. Portland cement concrete (M30) was used as a reference sample. The effect of silica fume, temperature (40 °C, 60 °C, 80 °C, 100 °C and 120 °C), sodium and potassium hydroxides and different superplasticizers on the compressive strength are reported [1]. Maximum strength was found at 100 °C and 14 M alkali solution [1].

Backfill mining is an effective way to solve environment pollute, surface subsidence, and groundwater system damage which caused by coal mining. However, the complex underground environment may change the physical and mechanical properties of the backfill body, which poses a risk of strength failure. This paper analyzed the failure of gangue-based cemented backfill body which made up of gangue and fly ash.

Co-combustion of sewage sludge (SS) and coal slime (CS) could improve the combustion properties of the two materials, however, high levels of trace elements (TEs) can be released from the two wastes, resulting in secondary pollution. The migration and transformation behavior of As, Cr, Pb, Zn, and Mn during co-combustion is explored in current research. The results showed co-combustion could inhibit the emission of Zn, As, Pb, and Mn, and the effect was more pronounced for Zn, As and Mn.

Ordinary Portland cement is the highest produced cement type in the world, however its production is high energy consumption means expensive, huge natural resource consumptive, and creating high environmental pollution. Hence many researchers studied to reduce the effect of ordinary Portland cement by substituting artificial and natural supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) commonly in a concrete/mortar mixture. However, the comprehensive effect of different SCMs on various properties of cement composite materials are not well known.

Globally, there is an increasing need for ceramic materials that have a variety of applications in the environment, for precision tools, and for the biomedical, electronics, and environmental industries. However, in order to obtain remarkable mechanical qualities, ceramics have to be manufactured at a high temperature of up to 1600 °C over a long heating period. Furthermore, the conventional approach presents issues with agglomeration, irregular grain growth, and furnace pollution.

Our study aims to highlight the effects of the addition of phosphogypsum on certain fresh and hardened characteristics of geopolymer matrices based on metakaolin or fly ash. In the fresh state, workability and setting were studied by rheology and by the electrical conductivity measurement. The hardened state was characterized by XRD, DTA, SEM, and compressive strength measurement.
