AI Article Synopsis

  • Significant advancements in echocardiography have led to more detailed and complex standard examinations that require expert skills.
  • The British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) has developed guidelines to outline a minimum dataset necessary for a comprehensive echocardiogram and suggests an optimal sequence for capturing images.
  • Following these guidelines will enhance the quality of echocardiographic studies and ensure consistency in results across various practitioners and institutions.

Article Abstract

There have been significant advances in the field of echocardiography with the introduction of a number of new techniques into standard clinical practice. Consequently, a 'standard' echocardiographic examination has evolved to become a more detailed and time-consuming examination that requires a high level of expertise. This Guideline produced by the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) Education Committee aims to provide a minimum dataset that should be obtained in a comprehensive standard echocardiogram. In addition, the layout proposes a recommended sequence in which to acquire the images. If abnormal pathology is detected, additional views and measurements should be obtained with reference to other BSE protocols when appropriate. Adherence to these recommendations will promote an increased quality of echocardiography and facilitate accurate comparison of studies performed either by different operators or at different departments.

Materials Science Division, Argonne National Laboratory, Lemont, IL, 60439, USA.

This contribution presents a comprehensive extension of the QM9 dataset (originally at 133 K molecules) with the calculation of G4MP2 enthalpies for 9,841 molecules, featuring up to nine heavy atoms. We present QM9-LOHC, a (de)hydrogenation dataset of 10,373 reactions, including a minimum of 5.5% weight hydrogen storage capacity in line with the Department of Energy standards for Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC).

Objectives: To assess the feasibility of capturing older care home residents' quality of life (QoL) in digital social care records and the construct validity (hypothesis testing) and internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) of four QoL measures.

Design: Cross-sectional data collected in wave 1 of the DACHA (eveloping resources nd minimum dataset for are omes' doption) study, a mixed-methods pilot of a prototype minimum dataset (MDS).

Setting: Care homes (with or without nursing) registered to provide care for older adults (>65 years) and/or those living with dementia.

Predictions of student performance are important to the education system as a whole, helping students to know how their learning is changing and adjusting teachers' and school policymakers' plans for their future growth. However, selecting meaningful features from the huge amount of educational data is challenging, so the dimensionality of student achievement features needs to be reduced. Based on this motivation, this paper proposes an improved Binary Snake Optimizer (MBSO) as a wrapped feature selection model, taking the Mat and Por student achievement data in the UCI database as an example, and comparing the MBSO feature selection model with other feature methods, the MBSO is able to select features with strong correlation to the students and the average number of student features selected reaches a minimum of 7.

Objectives: Alcohol consumption and its associated harms pose a significant challenge to public health in the UK. To address this issue, Wales implemented a Minimum Unit Price policy (MUP) in February 2020, setting a minimum price of 50p per UK unit of alcohol (10 ml/8 g). In this study we evaluate the policy's impact on alcohol sales metrics to gauge its effectiveness in improving public health outcomes.
