The presence of plus disease is the primary indication for treatment of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), but its diagnosis is subjective and prone to error. ROPtool is a semiautomated computer program that quantifies vascular tortuosity and dilation. Pictor is an FDA-approved, noncontact, handheld digital fundus camera. This pilot study evaluated ROPtool's ability to analyze high-quality Pictor images of premature infants and its accuracy in diagnosing plus disease compared to clinical examination. In our small sample of images, ROPtool could trace and identify the presence of plus disease with high accuracy.

Objective: To further investigate quantitative and qualitative tear-film dynamics through tear-film osmolarity, meibometry, meibography, and non-invasive tear-film break-up time and to describe a survey of parameters in normal eyes of healthy non-brachycephalic dogs.
Animals Studied: Thirty-two veterinary hospital staff and student owned dogs between 1 and 7 years with no known comorbidities or ocular disease.
Procedure: Complete ophthalmic examination, tear-film osmolarity (I-PEN® VET), meibometry (Meibometer MB560), meibography, and non-invasive tear-film break-up time (handheld Ocular Surface Analyzer) were performed.

A low-cost, handheld centrifugal microfluidic system for multiplexed visual detection based on recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) was developed. A concise centrifugal microfluidic chip featuring four reaction units was developed to run multiplexed RPA amplification in parallel. Additionally, a significantly shrunk-size and cost-effective handheld companion device was developed, incorporating heating, optical, rotation, and sensing modules, to perform multiplexed amplification and visual detection.

Introduction: This study aimed to analyze corneal sensitivity with a new noncontact and handheld esthesiometer (Brill Engines, Spain) in patients with dry eye disease (DED) and patients on hypotensive drops, and to compare it with healthy subjects.
Methods: A total of 31 patients (57 eyes) with DED, 23 patients (46 eyes) with glaucoma, and 21 healthy patients (33 eyes) were recruited. In all patients, corneal sensitivity was measured.
Wound analytics, infection detection, and oxygenation measurement are the three critical prerequisites for appropriate wound care. Although devices that rapidly detect the above-mentioned parameters independently exist, there is no single point-of-care device that is enabled with all the three functionalities. Through this study, we are introducing and evaluating the performance of Illuminate Pro Max-a novel, rapid, hand-held non-contact, point-of-care multimodal imaging device that is equipped to measure the three wound assessment parameters.
