Background: Early and continuous exposure to painful stimuli in premature infants leads to short-and long-term complications. Listening to white noise is an accessible and inexpensive non-invasive method that can be used as a safe nursing intervention in hospitals. Background: Super-refractory status epilepticus (SRSE) is an extremely serious neurological emergency. Risk factors and mechanisms involved in transition from refractory status epilepticus (RSE) to SRSE are insufficiently studied.
Methods: This was a multicenter retrospective cohort study of consecutive patients diagnosed and treated for RSE at two reference hospital over 5 years in Ecuador.

Spontaneous ureteral rupture is a rare cause of acute abdominal pain, particularly unusual during pregnancy or the post-partum period. While pregnancy-related changes like ureteral compression and dilation may play a role, no definitive mechanisms have been established. Clinicians should suspect ureteric injury in post-partum patients with free pelvic fluid.

Case Description: The patient in this case study is an 81-year-old man who presented with intermittent rigors. Following radiological and clinical assessments, a pyogenic liver abscess, with evidence of systemic metastatic infection, was diagnosed.
