Background: Fibroblast Growth Factor 21 (FGF21) is a naturally occurring peptide hormone involved in the regulation of glycolipid metabolism, and it shows promise as a potential treatment for type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the short half-life and poor pharmacokinetics of native FGF21 limit its efficacy in reducing hyperglycemia in vivo. Therefore, maintaining stable and sustained blood concentrations of FGF21 is crucial for its role as an effective regulator of glycolipid metabolism in vivo.

Background/objective: Calcium channel blockers, when taken in overdose quantities, can cause hyperglycemia requiring so-called hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic therapy. The objective of this report was to describe a patient with calcium channel blocker toxicity resulting from overdose of amlodipine.
Case Report: A 74-year-old man presented with a fall and loss of consciousness.

Objective: Dysglycemia has deleterious outcomes on critically ill patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). Insulin degludec, an ultra-long-acting insulin, is associated with lower rates of hypoglycemia and blood glucose (BG) variability in non-critically ill patients. Aims: Semaglutide, a novel long-acting GLP-1RA, stimulates insulin and suppresses islet-secreted glucagon to reduce glucose levels.
