The aim of this study was to characterize the expression of glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in the components of normal bovine ovary and in animals with cystic ovarian disease (COD). Changes in the protein and mRNA expression levels were determined in control cows and cows with COD by immunohistochemistry and real-time PCR. GR protein expression in granulosa cells was higher in cysts from animals with spontaneous COD and adrenocorticotropic hormone-induced COD than in tertiary follicles from control animals. In theca interna cells, GR expression was higher in cysts from animals with spontaneous COD than in tertiary follicles from control animals. The increase in GR expression observed in cystic follicles suggests a mechanism of action for cortisol and its receptor through the activation/inactivation of specific transcription factors. These factors could be related to the pathogenesis of COD in cattle.

After the World Health Organization established a precise definition of mucinous cystic neoplasm (MCN) in 2000, based on the presence of ovarian-type stroma, its clinical features became more apparent. Surgery for MCN, which primarily affects middle-aged women with long life expectancies, is likely to negatively impact the patient's quality of life. Although recent studies have reported a low proportion of advanced neoplasia among resected MCN (≤15%), many clinicians still recommend surgery for patients with presumed MCN without considering risk stratification for advanced neoplasia.

Management of cases of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) antibody-mediated encephalitis is very challenging to anaesthesiologists as this receptor is the target of many anaesthetics. We report a woman diagnosed with anti-NMDA antibody-mediated encephalitis posted for laparotomy. She presented with generalised tonic-clonic seizures.

Objective: This study investigates the MRI characteristics of primary and metastatic adult granulosa cell tumor with normal estrogen levels (AGCT-NEL) to enhance clinical understanding and diagnostic accuracy of this disease.
Methods: We collected clinical data from 10 patients with AGCT-NEL, confirmed by pathology, treated at our hospital from January 2016 to January 2024. We retrospectively analyzed the MRI features of primary and metastatic lesions from aspects such as shape, edge characteristics, MRI signal, and enhancement features.
Fetiform teratoma, another name for homunculus, is a rare form of mature teratoma that is highly differentiated and has parts that resemble a malformed fetus. We reported a case of ovarian Fetiform teratoma in a 38 years old nulliparous woman presented with right side abdominal distention of 10 years duration. An ultrasound revealed a heterogeneous pelvic cystic mass that ranged in appearance from fully hyperechoic to fully hypoechoic, suggesting mature cystic teratoma.

Ovarian squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a rare entity among primary ovarian cancers. This type of cancer typically originates from the transformation of mature cystic teratomas, commonly known as dermoid cysts, and occasionally from associations with endometriosis or Brenner's tumors. The typical clinical scenario involves presentation in postmenopausal women, with symptoms arising from tumor growth or metastasis.
