We present a case of spontaneous simultaneous bilateral hip fracture in an elderly female patient suffering undiagnosed osteomalacia. She underwent staged bilateral cemented bipolar hemiarthroplasty and received long-term medical treatment for osteomalacia. Our aim is to stress on the clinical value of unexplained chronic bilateral groin pain predicting the occurrence of these fractures and on the importance of evaluating serum levels of vitamin D, calcium and parathyroid hormone especially in elderly sedentary patients with lack of exposure to sunlight.

Unlabelled: Cytoplasmic proteins must recruit to membranes to function in processes such as endocytosis and cell division. Many of these proteins recognize not only the chemical structure of the membrane lipids, but the curvature of the surface, binding more strongly to more highly curved surfaces, or 'curvature sensing'. Curvature sensing by amphipathic helices is known to vary with membrane bending rigidity, but changes to lipid composition can simultaneously alter membrane thickness, spontaneous curvature, and leaflet symmetry, thus far preventing a systematic characterization of lipid composition on such curvature sensing through either experiment or simulation.

Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SANFH) is a common hip joint disease that imposes a heavy economic burden on society. Patients continue to experience bone necrosis even after discontinuing glucocorticoid therapy, and the specific mechanisms require further investigation. The results of this study demonstrate that exosomes secreted by damaged vascular endothelial cells in SANFH lesions may be a crucial factor leading to abnormal adipogenic differentiation of bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs).

The molecular basis for the liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) behavior of various biomolecular components in the cell is the formation of multivalent and low-affinity interactions. When the content of these components exceeds a certain critical concentration, the molecules will spontaneously coalesce to form a new liquid phase; i.e.

There is limited information available regarding post-simultaneous pancreatic kidney transplantation (SPKT) pregnancies. The present case describes a woman in her early 30s with first pregnancy who conceived spontaneously 4 years after SPKT. Her pancreatic and kidney graft function remained stable throughout the pregnancy.

This research aims to design a novel selective and multifunctional adsorbent based on Al/Cu modified hemp fibres as a novel and multifunctional adsorbent for removing different classes of pollutants. The adsorbent, which was widely characterized, was shown to be more effective in removing anionic dyes compared to cationic ones. Among the tested dye, methyl orange was selected to understand how different parameters, such as temperature (20-80°C), contact time, pH (2-12), initial dye concentration (50-300 ppm), salinity and adsorbent dosage (1-10 g/L) affect the removal capacity.
