Klebsiella pneumoniae is a leading cause of anti-microbial resistance in healthcare-associated infections that have posed a severe threat to neonatal and wider community. The escalating crises of antibiotic resistance have compelled researchers to explore an innovative arsenal beginning from natural resources to chemical modifications in order to overcome the ever-increasing resistance issues. The present review highlights the drug discovery efforts with a special focus on cutting-edge strategies in the hunt for potential drug candidates against MDR/XDR Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Background: New Zealand guidelines stipulate that patient consent is obtained for medical student involvement in clinical care, however, patients' preferences regarding consent for medical student teaching have not been widely explored. This study examined patient preferences for consent for medical student teaching with the aim to increase patient empowerment, to optimise care and to reflect societal expectations more accurately.
Method: Observational, semi-qualitative, cross-sectional study of in-patients.

Meaningful and effective community engagement lies at the core of equity-centered research, which is a powerful tool for addressing health disparities in American Indian (AI) communities. It is essential for centering Indigenous wisdom as a source of solutions and disrupting Western-centric perspectives and inequitable and exclusionary research practices. This paper reports on lessons learned implementing an effectiveness trial of the Thiwáhe Glúwaš'akapi program (TG) program (translated as "sacred home in which families are made strong")-a family-based substance use prevention program-in a post-pandemic era with an American Indian reservation community that has confronted extreme challenges.

Background: Delivery of safe maternity care requires not only individual competence but collective team work, influenced by knowledge, team culture and physical working spaces. The ideal layout for a birthing unit is not known, but deliberate changes to the built environment can influence patient care.
Aims: To explore the impact of creation of an open 'hub' on maternity team culture in a tertiary birthing unit and how physical changes to the environment shape values and practice.
Medical interpreters are indispensable in healthcare, breaking down language barriers to restore autonomy to patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). By facilitating clear communication, they enable these patients to understand and make informed choices about their treatment options. However, their role extends beyond translation; medical interpreters also advocate for LEP patients within a healthcare system that can often be unjust.
