A density functional, εCV-DFT(ρc, ρv), describing the core-valence correlation energy has been constructed as a linear combination of εLY P (corr)(ρc), εV WN5 (corr)(ρc, ρv), εPBE (corr)(ρc, ρv), εSlater (ex)(ρc, ρv), εHCTH (ex)(ρc, ρv), εHF (ex)(ρc, ρv), and FCV-DFTNi,Zi, a function of the nuclear charges. This functional, with 6 adjustable parameters, reproduces (±0.27 kcal/mol rms error) a benchmark set of 194 chemical energy changes including 9 electron affinities, 18 ionization potentials, and 167 total atomization energies covering the first- and second-rows of the periodic table. This is almost twice the rms error (±0.16 kcal/mol) obtained with CCSD(T)/MTsmall calculations, but less than half the rms error (±0.65 kcal/mol) obtained with MP2/GTlargeXP calculations, and somewhat smaller than the rms error (±0.39 kcal/mol) obtained with CCSD/MTsmall calculations. The largest positive and negative errors from εCV-DFT(ρc, ρv) were 0.88 and -0.75 kcal/mol with the set of 194 core-valence energy changes ranging from +3.76 kcal/mol for the total atomization energy of propyne to -9.05 kcal/mol for the double ionization of Mg. Evaluation of the εCV-DFT(ρc, ρv) functional requires less time than a single SCF iteration, and the accuracy is adequate for any model chemistry based on the CCSD(T) level of theory.

Objectives: The influence of printing parameters on the marginal and internal fit of three-dimensional (3D) printed interim fixed partial dentures (IFPDs) has been understudied. This investigation sought to elucidate the impact of printing orientation and post-curing time on these critical factors.
Methods: A total of 260 3-Unit IFDPs were printed using two different resins (130/NextDent C&B MFH and 130/ASIGA DentaTOOTH).

Free-electron laser (FEL) facilities operating at MHz repetition rates can emit lasers with average powers reaching hundreds of watts. Partial absorption of this power induces thermal deformation of a few micrometres on the mirror surface. Such deformation degrades the characteristics of the reflected photon beam, leading to focal spot aberrations and wavefront distortions that fail to meet experimental requirements.

To overcome the limitations of phase sampling points in testing aspherical surface wavefronts using traditional interferometers, we propose a high-spatial-resolution method based on multi-directional orthogonal lateral shearing interferometry. In this study, we provide a detailed description of the methodology, which includes the theoretical foundations and experimental setup, along with the results from simulations and experiments. By establishing a relational model between the multi-directional differential wavefront and differential Zernike polynomials, we demonstrate high-spatial-resolution wavefront reconstruction using multi-directional orthogonal lateral shearing interferometry.

Although integrated joint torque sensors in robots dispel the need for external force/torque sensors at the wrist to measure interactions, an inherent challenge is that they also measure the robot's intrinsic dynamics. This is especially problematic for delicate robot manipulation tasks, where interaction forces may be comparable to the robot intrinsic dynamics. Therefore, the intrinsic dynamics must first be experimentally estimated under no-load conditions, when the measurement only consists of torques due to the transmission of the robot actuator, before external interactions may be measured.

Purpose: To assess the impact of involuntary interruptions (simulating tracking loss by moving the scanner out of its focal distance) and voluntary interruptions (pressing the scanner's turn-on button) on the accuracy of implant-supported full-arch scans using an intraoral scanner (TRIOS 5, version 22.1.10; 3Shape; Copenhagen, Denmark).
