All-solid-state, flexible, symmetric, and asymmetric microsupercapacitors are fabricated by a simple method in a scalable fashion from laser-induced graphene on commercial polyimide films, followed by electrodeposition of pseudocapacitive materials on the interdigitated in-plane architectures. These microsupercapacitors demonstrate comparable energy density to commercial lithium thin-film batteries, yet exhibit more than two orders of magnitude higher power density with good mechanical flexibility.

Monitoring volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is crucial for ensuring safety and health. In this study, we introduce a strategy to engineer a chromatography-inspired single-sensor (CISS) e-nose tailored for VOC monitoring. This approach overcomes the limitations of traditional methodologies and conventional e-noses.

Laser reduction of graphene oxide (GO) is a promising approach for achieving flexible, robust, and electrically conductive graphene/polymer composites. Resulting composite materials show significant technological potential for energy storage, sensing, and bioelectronics. However, in the case of insulating polymers, the properties of electrodes show severely limited performance.

Deep eutectic solvents (DES) have emerged as versatile, sustainable media for the synthesis of nanomaterials due to their low toxicity, tunability, and biocompatibility. This study develops a one-step method to modify commercially available screen-printed electrodes (SPE) using laser-induced pyrolysis of DES, consisting of choline chloride and tartaric acid with dissolved nickel acetate and dispersed graphene. The electrodes were patterned using a 532 nm continuous-wave laser for the in situ formation of Ni nanoparticles decorated on graphene sheets directly on the SPE surface (Ni-G/SPE).

In this work, laser-induced graphene from kraft paper (kraft paper-LIG) was employed for the nonenzymatic electrochemical sensing of dopamine (DA). We reported the fabrication and characterization of a disposable, cost-effective, kraft-based electrochemical dopamine sensor with the sensing electrode consisting of laser-induced graphene derived from kraft paper. Kraft paper-LIG was formed by the femtosecond laser modification of kraft paper into a three-dimensional (3D) graphene arrangement.

In recent years, flexible pressure sensors have played an increasingly important role in human health monitoring. Inspired by traditional papermaking techniques, we have developed a highly flexible, low-cost, and ecofriendly flexible pressure sensor using shredded paper fibers as the substrate. By combining the properties of laser-induced graphene with the structure of paper fibers, we have improved the internal structure of pressure-sensitive paper and designed a conical surface microstructure, providing new insights into nanomaterial engineering.
