Renal angiomyolipoma (AML) with epithelial cysts (AMLEC) is a comparatively rare benign renal tumor that is recently recognized as a distinct entity and there are relatively few reported cases in the English-language literature. To date 19 cases of AMLEC have been reported in 2 case series and a few case reports. AMLEC has been described as a cystic variant of AML. Herein we reported an AMLEC in a 25-year-old female patient, and to the best of our knowledge this is the first case report of AMLEC in Chinese. She was incidentally found to have a kidney-occupying lesion during a routine medical examination for 1 month. CT examination demonstrated a multilocular cystic lesions arising from right-kidney lower pole. The patient underwent the partial nephrectomy. Histological examination of the tumor was composed of epithelial cysts, compact subepithelial mullerian-like stroma and muscle-predominant AML. Immunohistochemically, epithelial cysts were positive for CK but negative for ER, PR, CD10 and HMB-45; the subepithelial stroma and muscle-predominant AML were positive for ER, PR and HMB-45; the subepithelial stroma was negative for SMA, but muscle-predominant AML was positive for SMA. The final histopathological diagnosis was AMLEC.

A dentigerous cyst (DC) is the most common developmental cystic lesion of the jaws. Histologically, these cysts derive from the odontogenic epithelium that includes the reduced enamel epithelium, epithelial cell rests of Serres, and epithelial cell rests of Malassez. Radiographically, DCs are usually presented as well-defined radiolucencies associated with the crown of an unerupted tooth at the level of the cementoenamel junction (CEJ).

Radicular cysts are one of the most common cysts of inflammatory origin involving the maxillofacial region that arise from the remnants of Herwig's epithelial root sheath. These are often diagnosed as incidental findings on radiographs, which are seldom symptomatic and are slowly progressive. Decompression could be used as a conservative treatment approach for the management of large radicular cysts in children to have satisfactory healing and minimum damage to adjacent vital structures, simultaneously allowing the eruption of succedaneous tooth.

Cystic basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a rare subtype of BCC (1). Histologically, it is usually characterized by multiple small cysts without a clinical cystic appearance (2). Herein, we report an unusual case of cystic BCC with a large vulvar cyst.

Genetic modifiers are believed to play an important role in the onset and severity of polycystic kidney disease (PKD), but identifying these modifiers has been challenging due to the lack of effective methodologies. In this study, we investigated zebrafish mutants of , a newly identified ADPKD gene, and observed phenotypes similar to those seen in mammalian models, including kidney cysts and bone defects. Using efficient microhomology-mediated end joining (MMEJ)-based genome editing technology, we demonstrated that CRISPRants recapitulate mutant phenotypes while bypassing the early lethality of the mutants to allow for renal cyst analysis in adult fish.

A desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) presented in a 13-year-old female with an acute abdomen due to torsion of a fallopian tube cyst. She was found to have an incidental 2 cm pedunculated, solid, and multicystic mass attached to the pelvic floor on laparoscopy. The neoplasm had a variably myxoid and spindle cell pattern with nests and cords of small cells, forming pseudocysts, and true cysts lined by ciliated epithelium which were PAX-8+ and ER+/PR+.
