Three-dimensional mapping and intracardiac echocardiography are important tools for the study of the site of origin of an arrhythmia and its substrate. This review examines the application of these techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of sinoatrial tachycardias with a special focus on the syndrome of inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The use of these techniques in electrophysiologic mapping and interventions such as catheter ablation is discussed. Three-dimensional mapping provides unique insights into the generation of normal and abnormal sinus impulses in man and their propagation in the atrium. It permits precise placement of ablation lesions and assessment of real-time electrophysiologic impact of these interventions. Intracardiac echocardiography provides delineation of important anatomic structures in the vicinity of the sinoatrial node complex and monitors the safety of interventions such as catheter ablation.

Classification in 157 patients with Lisfranc injuries using three-dimensional fracture lines and heat map.

J Orthop Surg Res

March 2025

Department of Orthopedics, The Affiliated Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Southwest Medical University, Luzhou, China.

Background: Recently Lisfranc fractures have increased due to increased high-energy injuries from various causes. However, due to incomplete traditional classification, the pattern and distribution of fractures cannot be analyzed in three dimensions. This study examines a novel fracture pattern based on the fracture line and heat map for Lisfranc injuries.

Heterostructures have promising applications in photonics and optoelectronics, mainly due to their high electron mobility and broadband photoresponse covering visible, infrared, and terahertz (THz) ranges. However, it is challenging to detect heterostructures in high definition with conventional THz techniques. Here we demonstrate a THz nanoscopic imaging method which is capable of resolving the local THz response of PbS-graphene heterostructures based upon a sophisticated THz near-field optical microscope.

Purpose: To achieve high-resolution, three-dimensional (3D) quantitative diffusion-weighted MR spectroscopic imaging (DW-MRSI) for molecule-specific microstructural imaging of the brain.

Methods: We introduced and integrated several innovative acquisition and processing strategies for DW-MRSI: (a) a new double-spin-echo sequence combining selective excitation, bipolar diffusion encoding, rapid spatiospectral sampling, interleaved water spectroscopic imaging data, and a special sparsely sampled echo-volume-imaging (EVI)-based navigator, (b) a rank-constrained time-resolved reconstruction from the EVI data to capture spatially varying phases, (c) a model-based phase correction for DW-MRSI data, and (d) a multi-b-value subspace-based method for water/lipids removal and spatiospectral reconstruction using learned metabolite subspaces, and e) a hybrid subspace and parametric model-based parameter estimation strategy. Phantom and in vivo experiments were performed to validate the proposed method and demonstrate its ability to map metabolite-specific diffusion parameters in 3D.

Computed tomography for major aortopulmonary collateral arteries: a roadmap to unifocalized pulmonary arterial flow.

Department of Radiology and Research Institute of Radiology, Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, 88, Olympic-ro 43-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, 05505, Korea.

In conjunction with catheter angiography, high-resolution, isotropic, three-dimensional computed tomography mapping of major aortopulmonary collateral arteries is useful for delineating complex thoracic arterial anatomy and has been increasingly utilized in patients with pulmonary atresia and ventricular septal defect. The presence, confluence, and size of the central (mediastinal native) pulmonary artery; the presence and course of a patent ductus arteriosus; the number of collateral arteries; the number of lung segments supplied by each collateral artery; significant distal pulmonary artery stenoses; and isolated or dual blood supply in each lung segment can be evaluated using computed tomography mapping. The detailed mapping can substantially reduce procedural time for catheter angiography, which delivers a higher radiation dose than computed tomography does, and is useful for surgical planning.

Accelerating polymer self-consistent field simulation and inverse DSA-lithography with deep neural networks.

Department of Advanced Optical and Microelectronic Equipment, Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai 201800, China.

Self-consistent field theory (SCFT) is a powerful polymer field-theoretic simulation tool that plays a crucial role in the study of block copolymer (BCP) self-assembly. However, the computational cost of implementing SCFT simulations is comparatively high, particularly in computationally demanding applications where repeated forward simulations are needed. Herein, we propose a deep learning-based method to accelerate the SCFT simulations.
