Background: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a chronic syndrome, affecting about 1%-5% of children. Sympathetic activity is increased in OSAS, and the reduction of disease symptoms, occurring after adenotonsillectomy, correlates with biomarkers indicating a reduced sympathetic response.
