Published: February 2016

'Big data' is the next frontier of medicine. We now have the ability to generate and analyze large quantities of healthcare data. Although interpreting and integrating this information into clinical practice poses many challenges, the potential benefits of personalized medicine are seemingly without limit.

Deep learning has achieved significant success in the field of defect detection; however, challenges remain in detecting small-sized, densely packed parts under complex working conditions, including occlusion and unstable lighting conditions. This paper introduces YOLOv8-n as the core network to propose VEE-YOLO, a robust and high-performance defect detection model. Firstly, GSConv was introduced to enhance feature extraction in depthwise separable convolution and establish the VOVGSCSP module, emphasizing feature reusability for more effective feature engineering.

Vehicle speed measurement method using monocular cameras.

Sci Rep

Computer and Information Engineering College, Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, Hohhot, 010000, China.

This paper proposes a method for fast and accurate vehicle speed measurement based on a monocular camera. Firstly, by establishing a new camera imaging model, the calibration method for variable focal lengths is optimized, simplifying the transformation process between the four coordinate systems in traditional camera imaging models, and the method does not need to restore the pixel coordinates to dedistortion. Secondly, based on the camera imaging model, a two-dimensional positioning algorithm is proposed.

The coastline reflects coastal environmental processes and dynamic changes, serving as a fundamental parameter for coast. Although several global coastline datasets have been developed, they mainly focus on coastal morphology, the typology of coastlines are still lacking. We produced a Global CoastLine Dataset (GCL_FCS30) with a detailed classification system.

Institute of Animal Science, Xizang Academy of Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Science, Lhasa, Xizang 850009, China; Key Laboratory of Animal Genetics and Breeding on Xizang Plateau, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Lhasa, Xizang 850009, China. Electronic address:

The liver-gut axis is an important regulatory axis for the host's metabolic functions. The study of liver gene expression, changes in metabolic products and the regulation of gut microbial communities in plateau animals under harsh environments can reveal the mechanisms by which Tibetan goats adapt to the plateau environment. This study employs transcriptome, metabolome and metagenomic analyses to reveal the differences in genes, metabolism, and gut microbiota between Jianzhou big-eared goats (JBG) and Xizang cashmere goats (TCG), which is of significant importance for improving survival models of high-altitude ruminants.
