Article Abstract
Simple molecular docking calculations on quercetin, kojic acid and diethylcarbamatodithoic acid using the software package MOE are shown to be close to the geometries reported in the X-ray crystal structures of the protein co-crystallized with the respective ligands. Furthermore, DFT optimization of the docked conformations is shown to reproduce the essential features of previous studies on quercetin, showing that docking can be used to provide good starting structures for mechanistic study. The flavone ligand, lacking the hydroxyl group of the quercetin is shown by docking to be unable to approach closely the copper atom, indicating the necessity of the presence of the hydroxyl group and providing a prediction of the likely binding environment of this ligand.

Cadmium （Cd） and arsenic （As） often coexist in water and agricultural soils around mining areas, and it is difficult to remove them at the same time due to their opposite chemical behaviors. Therefore, this study employed a co-precipitation-pyrolysis method to synthesize silica-based magnetic biochar （SMB） materials for the remediation of water contaminated with both Cd and As. The optimization of preparation conditions involved introducing three different types of silicates （NaSiO, CaSiO,and SiO） into the biomass-magnetite mixture, followed by pyrolysis at various temperatures （300℃, 500℃, and 700℃）, and the optimal preparation conditions were determined based on the composite batch experiments.

Biochar can serve as an activator for potassium ferrate, significantly enhancing the treatment efficiency to antibiotics. However, the mechanism by which biochar activated potassium ferrate remained unclear, necessitating further investigation. Cellulose biochar (CBC) and lignin biochar (LBC) derived by two model compounds which were the highest proportion of content in biomass were adopted to be study object, to investigate the removal efficiency of tetracycline (TC) by ferrate synergetic with CBC and LBC, respectively for the first time, and thoroughly analyzed the adsorption and degradation processes within the reaction system.
